摘要： A sulky includes a frame having a cross-member and a pair of shafts spaced from each other and extending from the cross-member forwardly along an axis. A first wheel support and a second wheel support each rotatably extend downwardly from the frame and each engage wheels, respectively. Each of the first and second wheel supports includes an adjustment feature defining a plurality of adjustment positions. The wheels are engaged with the first and second wheel supports, respectively, and are independently adjustable relative to the first and second wheel supports, respectively, to any of the adjustment positions. The plurality of adjustment positions of the first and second wheel supports are located along lines generally extending rearwardly along the axis and upwardly relative to the axis.

摘要： The present invention pertains to a sulky for horse-drawn harness racing including a frame, a seat, and a pair of wheels. The frame comprises an arch, a fork assembly secured to each end of the arch, a pair of spaced-apart rails extending forwardly from the arch in a direction of travel, and a stirrup secured to each rail. Each fork assembly comprises a pair of spaced-apart legs and an axle. Each wheel is positioned between a respective pair of legs and rotatably secured to the axle. The frame may also include a support strut extending between a respective fork assembly and rail to provide additional strength to the frame.

摘要： A horse-drawn carriage 50 comprises a wheeled chassis 58, a boom 40 for drawing the carriage and a linkage mechanism 46, 51-56 which connects the boom 40 to the chassis 58. The boom has a seat 45 for a rider. The linkage mechanism 46, 51-56 permits movement between the chassis 58 and the boom 40 and includes a shock absorber 55 which acts between the chassis 58 and the boom 40. The linkage mechanism can permit rotational movement of the chassis with respect to the boom 40. A harness arrangement comprises a hitch 12 for coupling to the boom, the hitch being mounted to the harness such that the hitch can move in a direction substantially aligned with, or parallel to, the horse's back with tensioning means 34, 35 restricting movement of the hitch. The harness arrangement can reduce jolting to both the horse and the rider, resulting in a smoother drive.

A seat mounted on the sulky rearward of the sulky center of mass and the wheel axis allow the center of mass of a rider to substantially balance the sulky center of mass. A corresponding sulky harness connector is also disclosed.

摘要： A sulky adapted to be pulled by a horse includes a rigid frame having rear and forward cross members and a pair of transversely spaced thills connected to and extending forwardly from the cross members. An elongate tubular frame member is used to mount a driver's seat on this rigid frame. A pair of transversely spaced, downwardly extending wheel mounts are pivotally connected at their upper ends to the rigid frame. A ground engaging wheel is rotatively connected to the lower end of each wheel mount. A torsion bar suspension mechanism is connected to both of the wheel mounts and the rigid frame for yieldably supporting the frame on the wheels. A shock absorber mechanism connects the tubular frame member to the rear cross member while the front of the tubular frame member is pivotally connected to the forward cross member.

摘要： A jog cart used for training and displaying horses. The present invention jog cart employs concentric, double tube construction to reduce the use of multiple stress-bearing couplings. A plurality of base, tubular assemblies are disposed in parallel spaced relation and arranged in a U-shaped configuration, horizontal cross-members being coupled thereto to form the seating compartment of the jog cart. The outer tubular assemblies are deformed and extended from the passenger compartment forwardly to form the braces to which a horse is coupled. The U-shaped configuration of the base and bracket members permits lateral entry at the sides of the jog cart and provide for access to a seat assembly. An axle is coupled to the bottom of the base assembly and parallel guard rails formed of the double wall, tubular sections to prevent inadvertent contact with the wheels as well as providing additional structural stability to the jog cart.
