    摘要: An apparatus for moving a wheelchair, the apparatus having a base including a drive motor drivingly connected to a drive wheel and a first forwardly extending lower arm member engageable with the wheelchair when the wheelchair is in the engageable position. The first lower arm member is operable between a lowered position in which the first lower arm member is disengaged from the wheelchair and a raised position in which the first lower arm engages the wheelchair. The first lower arm member has a first stop member whereby, when the first lower arm member is in the raised position and engages the wheelchair, and when the wheelchair is on a forwardly extending declined surface, the first stop member inhibits forward motion of the wheelchair.

    摘要: The invention relates to the field of wheelchairs and has been designed for the measurement of parameters for the adjustment of a seated position of the user. It relates to a device for the simulation of a seated position in a wheelchair, which includes a seat backrest (1) adjustable horizontally, vertically and during its reclination, two side seat pans (27) with armrests (3) with adjustable distance, a foldable seat pan (2) with adjustable reclination, two wheels (4) with adjustable horizontal and vertical position, and a footrest (5) with adjustable vertical position and its reclination, at least one electric motor or an electric piston (15) for the adjustment of the position of the adjustable components, an electronic circuit with special software for the control of the motors and the display of the measurements, as well as a virtual reality software. With this device, it is possible to measure the adjustment parameters for the seated position of a wheelchair user automatically and digitally by means of a software which is installed in the simulation device.

    摘要: A wheelchair is provided. First supports for supporting a user of the wheelchair are unevenly disposed to form a perimeter, and second supports for supporting the user of the wheelchair are unevenly disposed at least partially within the perimeter of the first supports. The first supports support the user when the first supports are in a raised position and the second supports are in a lowered position. The second supports support the user when the second supports are in a raised position and the first supports are in a lowered position. A alternation of supporting the user with the first supports or the second supports facilitates reduction of pressure sores of the user. In various embodiments, multiple groups of supports are used, the supports contour to a user's anatomy and/or the supports are pneumatic.

    摘要: The present disclosure includes methods of operating a wheelchair configured to reposition an occupant between a lowered and a raised position. The wheelchair can include a frame, a seat moveable relative to the frame, a drive wheel, one or more pairs of arm assemblies, and one or more sensors. The arm assembly includes a wheel configured to move from a first spatial location when the wheelchair is operating on flat, level ground to a second spatial location that is different than the first spatial location. Arm limiters can selectively engage the arm assembly based on at least one of a seat position, position of the arm assembly, and surface conditions of ground surface. The arm limiters can limit the range of motion of the arm assembly and sometimes other operational aspects of the chair. The methods adjust the maximum operational speed of the wheelchair when the seat is in an elevated position based on sensor data relating to one or more of the arm limiter position and the position of the frame.
