The chair includes a body, having a jaw with a bight configured to receive the clip, and at least one downwardly projecting leg or shank for securing the chair adjacent the base flange of the rail. The rail clip is a torsional spring clip in the general form of an "S" having a rail-bearing leg for proximate engagement with the base flange of the rail and a tie bearing leg for proximate engagement with the tie plate.

    摘要: The invention relates to a rail securing arrangement, which has the following features. It comprises metal plates, each of which lies with its flat lower surface on the sleeper, and on whose upper surface two ribs are formed which extend in the longitudinal direction of the rail, and between which the foot of the sleeper lies on a bearing surface. On both sides of the rail in the region of the respective ribs, each plate has moreover at least one through-hole, with which a respective through-hole in the sleeper is aligned. Corresponding screws are each introduced with their lower ends into the respective through-holes of the plate and engage with a hook-like bend beneath the lower surface of the plate. Each screw is provided at its upper end with a thread onto which a respective nut is screwed. Furthermore, the securing arrangement comprises plate-like securing elements which are each bent to form a double-armed angle member. The first arm of each securing element engages, together with the associated screw in the corresponding through-hole in the plate, whereby the screw is fixed in this through-hole in such manner that the hook-like bend of the screw engages securely beneath the lower surface of the plate. The second arm of each securing element extends perpendicularly away from the rail and lies at least partially on the upper surface of the plate. Finally, clips are provided, which each have a respective screw. Each clip consists of a round-sectioned steel rod and possesses a form which is symmetrical to a vertical plane perpendicular to the rail. Each clip surrounds the associated screw with a central part which lies beneath the nut. A part of the clip facing the rail lies on the rail foot, while an outer part of the clip facing away from the rail presses from above on the upper surface of the plate.

    摘要: A metal plate stands on a cross tie above an opening in the tie and a rail clip has a substantially straight leg which is driven into the opening, bears upwardly and is at most 2 mm. below a flat bottom of the plate. Second and third parts of the clip bear downwardly on the upper face of the rail flange and the upper face of the plate, respectively. This assembly may be made from an existing assembly in which a spike had its head overlying the rail flange and holding the rail down, the making of the new assembly including the step of forming the opening in the tie without moving the plate. A rail clip especially suitable for use in the assembly is made by bending a metal rod to a shape in which, when the substantially straight leg is horizontal and the lowest points on the second and third parts lie in a horizontal plane, a vertical plane, parallel to a vertical plane containing the axis of the leg, intersects both the leg and the third part, and the minimum spacing between the third part and the leg is 1/2 to 2 times the rod thickness.

    摘要: To hold a railway rail down on a support member, a device is employed having a first part driven into a vertical hole in the support member, a second part having a sideways projection, part of which lies vertically below a part of the support member, to one side of the bottom of the hole, and further parts forming an arch above the support member. A convex portion of the first part co-operates with the wall of the hole during the driving operation to form a pivot about which said device rocks to cause the above-mentioned part of the projection to come under the above-mentioned part of the support member. A portion of a clip is driven under the arch and presses upwardly on it, another portion of the clip bears downwardly on the flange of the rail and a third portion bears downwardly on a fixed surface which, as seen from the rail, is beyond said first portion.

    摘要: A laterally adjustable rail clip fastening means is provided by the present invention for securing a resilient rail clip such as a Pandrol clip to a direct fixation rail mounting assembly, and, in turn, into engagement with a rail. The rail clip fastening means includes a pair of sections of rigid material formed with a curved portion at one end which receive and securely hold a resilient rail clip in engagement with the rail. Each of the sections are engageable with a disc means rotatably disposed within the top plate of the rail mounting assembly on opposite sides of the rail. The disc means are rotatable to move the sections laterally along the top plate, and include locking means to independently lock such sections into a position against the rail for preventing lateral movement thereof in cooperation with the resilient rail clips.

    摘要: A railroad rail is secured to a support normally constituted by a rail-fastening plate by means of a bolt engaged in this plate and a clip pressed by the bolt downwardly on one side against the plate and on the other side against the flange of the rail. To this end the clip is unitarily formed from a single piece of steel wire with a support leg that rests on the support and has one end connected via a bight extending over a ridge on the support to a bearing leg that bears on the flange of the rail. The other end of the support leg is extended to form an eye through which the bolt passes and the wire forming this clip has a bent-down end at the eye that limits the tightening of the bolt by abutment with the top of the ridge. Thus the support leg is twisted about its straight axis when the fastener is tightened for torsional loading.

    摘要: An improved rail clip and support assembly therefor which, in essence, locks the rail clip against longitudinal movement. A locking member is added to one end of a conventional rail clip fastener and, in a preferred form, comprises a downwardly extending end portion adapted to be guided into an aperture formed in the underlying support. A ramp may be provided in the aperture for facilitating removal of the locking end. Alternatively, the rail clip design may incorporate a looped portion for receiving a removal tool to facilitate separation of the clip from its support.
