摘要: A clip assembly secures standing seam skylight or roofing panels to substrates and allows for a full range of movements by the panels while eliminating or reducing frictional noises. The clip assembly may also be used with wall panel systems. The clip assembly includes a first clip member and a second clip member each having an upright member and an upper flange member and a lower flange member extending therefrom. The assembly further includes a gap formed between the upright member of the first clip member and the upright member of the second clip member. In one aspect the clip assembly includes a base which allows the assembly to slide.

摘要: A mid-roof anchoring system includes a series of anchoring channels secured to the roof structure along a line midway between the eave and the ridge of the roof. Metal roof panels installed over tile substructure are permitted to float laterally on the roof, except where they are attached to the anchoring channels. As a result, the roof panels expand or contract in both directions away from the midway line. This approach minimizes thermally induced movement the upper and lower edges of the roof, and minimizes reaction forces at the anchor.

摘要: An improved clip for supporting standing seam roofing panels on purlins or joists is disclosed. When used, this unique clip will not only support a standing seam, formed by two adjacent, connecting roofing panels, on a purlin, but will also accommodate both rotational and translational movement of the panels relative to the purlin. The disclosed clip is formed with several basic components: a base which is attachable to a purlin or joist; a middle piece which is capable of rotational displacement relative to the base; and a moveable top piece which is capable of translational, sliding movement relative to the middle piece. When in use, the top piece of the clip will coact with the interior of the standing seam to form a substantially tight, non-moving union with the seam. The base of the clip will be attached to the joist or purlin to support the roofing panels. When so situated, the novel clip according to the present invention may accommodate both translational, longitudinal movement of the roofing panels (which may be caused by thermal expansion or contraction of the panels), and rotational movement of the roofing panels (which may be caused by the application of live or dead loads on the panels), relative to the purlin. Further, a clip according to the present invention may also be used to attach standing seam roofing panels to joists or purlins which are not level, which have flanges out of square with the web of the purlin, or which are misaligned with the remaining purlins.

摘要: Elongate, profiled roof cladding sheets with formations on opposed edges for interengaging adjacent sheets to facilitate installation and form watertight joints. The interengaged formations form spaces to act as capilliary breaks. Cleats secure one edge only of each sheet to a roof frame and allow thermal contraction and expansion.

摘要: A two-part hold-down apparatus for an assembly of seam-connected panels (11, 12) firmly secures the panels at the seam (13) to the supporting structure while at the same time allowing for thermal expansion and contraction movement thereof. An upper fastening member (31) has an upstanding web portion (32) with a top flange (33) extending out from an inner face that is firmly secured in a seam (13) joining the adjacent sidewall portions of two panels and extends down to the supporting surface. A bottom pocket (36) extends up from an outer face of the web portion and terminates in a top rim (37). A lower fastening member (41) covered by a panel (12) has a depending end section (44) freely slidable in the pocket and a top section (45) that bears against the rim to exert a hold-down pressure thereon to form a slide joint between the two members. A base (42) of the lower fastening member is firmly affixed to the supporting structure.

摘要: An apparatus and method for enhancing joint integrity of a seam formed by union of adjacently disposed panels wherein one panel is provided with a female member and the other panel is provided with a male member, the female member being adopted to receive the male member such that a recessed portion is formed within the male member. The apparatus includes a first hand implement positionable within the recessed portion of the male member for selectively exerting a force on the male member for moving same into a seating, substantially watertight sealing relationship with the female member. The apparatus also includes a second hand implement positionable over the female member for exerting a force on the female member in a direction substantially opposite the force exerted on the male member by the first hand implement.

摘要: A concealed fastener arrangement useful in attaching a succession of profiled panel members to spaced-apart structural elements of a building framework to provide roof or wall structures. The arrangement includes repeating series of fixed and movable clip means secured to the structural elements in predetermined pattern. Adjacent ones of the fixed clip means are spaced-apart at a selected modular width corresponding to the desired panel coverage width. Plural movable clip means are presented between adjacent fixed clip means, and are capable of limited movement longitudinally of the structural elements. When assembled in side-by-side overlapped relation, the panel members present downwardly opening, longitudinal ribs including joint ribs formed by overlapping the complimentary male and female partial ribs of adjacent panel members. The fixed and movable clip means are received within the longitudinal ribs and connect the panel members to the structural elements. The concealed fastener arrangement is such that during installation, the manufactured width of the panel members--if different from the modular width--is conformed with the modular width by transverse expansion or contraction of the panel member. The movable clip means move into centered relation with the associated ribs thereby relieving any stresses which may have been created during forced expansion or contraction of the panel member.
