摘要: A lock of the type having an internal plunger with a stem for being gripped by a tool to pull the stem axially to release locking means, the stem being biased to the locking position by a coil spring so dimensioned that when the spring is fully compressed with the coils touching each other, the pin just reaches the unlocking position. Hence if an attempt is made to open the lock by inserting a bent wire or the like into a spring coil and pulling to compress the spring, the pin will not be able to move to the unlocking position.

摘要: A rotatable locking mechanism is provided for releasably securing relatively rotatable members, such as a member which is rotatably positionable with respect to a support member. A releasable ball detent locking assembly is mounted in one of the members for cooperating with selectively disposed indentations in the other member. In one of the embodiments, the detent assembly is mounted within the rotatable member and is provided with a manually actuated release mechanism for selectively positioning such member at one or more predetermined angular relationships with respect to the support member. In the locked condition, the ball detents are caused to protrude from the rotatable member and seat within the indentations formed on the support member. To free the rotatable member, the release mechanism is manually operated to retract the ball detents to a generally recessed or flush relationship with respect to a surrounding wall portion of the rotatable member. During rotation, the ball detents are captivated in their retracted position by a closely confronting wall portion of the support member, against which the ball detents are continuously urged by a spring bias associated with the release mechanism. The members are free to rotate in this condition until the ball detents encounter an indentation in the support member whereupon the detents snap outwardly into their locked, protruding condition. This locking mechanism is embodied in structures which are useful in a variety of applications including rotatable lockable struts, collapsible lockable handles, and lockable latches.

摘要: This device is a bolt type lock for preventing tampering with gas and electric meters. A hollow body with a fixed head on one end has a cap held onto the other end by locking means held extended into the cap by a spring-loaded plunger retractible solely through a small round key hole in the head, to unlock the lock. If any tool but the authorised key is used to pull the plunger, a piece that is normally left behind when the genuine key is used is brought into position in place of the plunger and keeps the locking means extended and the lock locked.

SEALING MEANS PREVENTING ACCESS TO THE INTERIOR OF THE LOCKING BOLT WITHOUT RUPTURE IS PROVIDED. In many embodiments of the present invention, the present invention reinforces an existing recessed cover by preventing the recessed covers from being easily removed by unauthorized persons and prevents any unauthorized personnel from accessing a locked down tubular. In one embodiment of the present invention, the inventive system is designed to maximize the overall strength of the locking unit for recessed covers or tubulars by using applied force on both the recessed cover and the circumference, curves, or straight, edge of the recessed unit or tubular interior.

In an example embodiment, the apparatus comprises at least a keyless insertion rotatable disk-style, barrel locking apparatus that, in a locked state can be inserted into a securing device without first unlocking, and then, thereafter, locking after insertion. In a nonlimiting example embodiment, unlocking and re-locking requires a key. The present invention, in an example embodiment, also provides features that allow the locking apparatus to enter and exit multiple apertures without requiring a key.

摘要: An example embodiment relates to preventing rotation of a barrel lock when opened by a key. At least one example embodiment includes a rotationally actuated barrel lock for securing electric meter boxes and the like, and a spring loaded clip for mounting inside the meter box. Lock actuation is characterized by rotation of a key relative to the lock. The barrel lock includes a head portion, and a smaller diameter shank portion with flatted areas thereon. The clip includes, in an example embodiment, a lock receiving opening with internal protrusions which engage the flatted areas on the lock shank, thereby preventing rotation of the lock when it is engaged by the key.
