    摘要: A retention arrangement for releasably securing a closure against a fixed body is provided. The retention arrangement includes a housing defining a mouth configured to receive a striker and defining a longitudinal axis, and at least one retention element configured to selectively retain said striker within the mouth, and movable between an open position and a closed position. The retention element is resiliently biased towards the closed position. The retention element is configured to open upon displacement due to said striker along the longitudinal axis in a first direction, and to close upon complete insertion of said striker within the mouth. The retention element is configured for rotation about at least two non-parallel axes so as to direct said striker towards the mouth.

    摘要: A locking arrangement is for a receptacle and cover with overlapping parts and aligned holes through the overlapping part. A bolt extends into at least one of the holes with a handle at one end of the bolt for pulling the bolt out of the aligned holes in a withdrawing direction. An expansion mechanism at an opposite end of the bolt expands to prevent withdrawing the bolt. The mechanism has a contracted geometry for allowing withdrawing of the bolt. An actuator mounted for movement to the bolt is pushed to contract and unlock the mechanism. A spring biases the expansion mechanism toward the expanded geometry so that when the actuator is not being pushed, the expansion mechanism is in the expanded geometry to lock the cover to the receptacle.

    摘要: A latch system is provided having utility in securing a planar member in a closed position within a housing having a portal. A base plate is secured to the planar member and a rotatable member having a generally circular periphery is coupled to the base plate. A cover is secured to the base plate and rotatably retains the rotatable member thereon. The cover includes a generally circular aperture having a diameter less than that of the periphery of the rotatable member, wherein upon assembly the generally circular periphery of the rotatable member opposes the generally circular aperture of the cover. At least one detent protrusion is formed on either the generally circular periphery of the rotatable member or the diameter of the generally circular aperture in the cover. At least one detent recess is formed in the other of the generally circular periphery of the rotatable member or the diameter of the generally circular aperture and opposes the detent protrusion. The detent recess is formed such that, upon engagement with the detent protrusion, purely rotational movement of the rotatable member causes axial movement of the rotatable member relative to the cover and disengagement of the detent protrusion with the detent recess. A pair of elongate members are coupled to the rotatable member such that rotation of the rotatable member causes the elongate members to reciprocate in and out of engagement with the apertures in the periphery of the portal.

    摘要: A self-interlocking dead bolt assembly for the door on a safe depository or like security container has a dead bolt guide mounted on the inner face of the door and a bore extends end to end through the dead bolt guide to permit an elongated dead bolt of high strength steel to be slidably mounted in said bore and movable to extend beyond said dead bolt guide for engagement with a strike or keeper to lock the door when it is in the closed position, and the bore has a locking groove inwardly of this end of the bore. The dead bolt has an inner bore or chamber which defines an annular wall thereon having a spaced plurality of sized transverse passages therethrough at a predetermined medial position. A corresponding plurality of sized ball members mounted in the transverse passages are actuated by a suitable actuating assembly in said inner bore to move radially outward on movement of the dead bolt to the locked position when the transverse passages are brought into alignment with the locking groove to self interlock the dead bolt in this locked position. The actuating assembly must be moved in a direction to cause the ball members to be released from the locking groove before the dead bolt can slide from the locked to the unlocked position. The actuating assembly desirably includes a breakaway device to insure against unauthorized tampering with the dead bolt assembly or door of the safe depository or like security container.Further, the combination of the above described self interlocking dead bolt assembly with an operatively associated operating lever or live bolt forming part of a suitable operating mechanism such as a combination lock affixed to and extending through from the inner face to the exterior face of the door for direct drive movement of the actuating assembly of the self interlocking dead bolt assembly.
