A device for cleaning, widening and repairing of wells comprises a pipe for supplying, through a valve, compressed-air into the well and a water and air discharge pipe coaxially surrounding the air supply pipe and terminating at its upper end with a bell airtightly welded to the periphery of the air supply pipe. The water and air discharge pipe as its upper part has a first port communicating with a water discharge pipe through a valve and a second port communicating with an air discharge pipe through another valve. A head surrounds the upper portion of the water and air discharge pipe and at its upper end is airtightly welded to the periphery of the water and air discharge pipe and at its lower end terminates in a flange detachably secured to the upper end of the well-jacket. The head has a third port communicating through a valve with a pipe for discharging and similar purposes. Moreover, there are provided two annular rubber diaphragms for defining in the depth of the well the zone in which the compressed-air has to be blown for widening the well and other elements to remove deposits, stones and putrid waters. Another device is provided for removal of the pebble gravel of the well-filter and earth blocks clogging the well-filter.

A coupling arrangement to removably interconnect pipes in a well, below ground level. The coupling comprises a head with a lateral connecting branch intended to sealingly engage a seat formed on the water pipe leading to the pump. An actuating rod with an eccentric thereon is rotatably mounted on said coupling head, said eccentric is arranged, when turned in one direction by the rod to displace said coupling head laterally until the connecting branch thereon engages in said seat, and when turned in the opposite direction, to effect disengagement between said seat and said connecting branch on said coupling head.

This is an improvement in Wellstein's U.S. Patent No. 3,812,910 issued May 28, 1974 comprising generally: (1) a positive supporting hook for the drop pipe slide member which cooperates with the hanger member on the nipple that extends radially through an opening in the well casing; (2) an improved shaped groove for the gasket in the washer or nut for better sealing the outside of the well casing with the outside of the nipple that extends through the hole therein for withstanding higher pressures; and/or (3) the employment of a pair of gaskets inside and outside the casing surrounding the nipple and contoured to the interior and exterior walls of the casing, also for insuring better sealing.

A pitless well adapter apparatus providing an easily assembled coupling through a well casing between a well drop pipe and a water delivery pipe. The coupling members include an adapter body member connected to the drop pipe, and an adapter outlet member connected to the delivery pipe and firmly mounted to the well casing through an opening therein. A U-shaped skirt is formed around a side opening in the adapter body and has a beveled groove formed around the inner periphery thereof. A U-shaped beveled flange is formed on the intake end of the adapter outlet member and is shaped and sized to closely mate with the groove in the skirt on the adapter body. The adapter apparatus is assembled by lowering the adapter body, with the drop pipe connected thereto, until the grooved skirt of the adapter body member is fully engaged on the beveled flange of the adapter outlet member, at which point the interior bores of the adapter body and the adapter outlet member are in full communication to allow the flow of water therethrough. The engaged beveled flange and grooved skirt extend below the lower margins of the interior bores of the engaged members to substantially prevent relative parting movement of the two coupling members due to pressure moments.

In a well casing projecting from ground surface to water level and having a wall opening underground between the ground surface and the water level for association with a pump, an adaptor having an elbow port, for communication between an outlet port at the wall opening and a vertically depending inlet tube, is designed for expedient removal from and insertion into operative position. The arrangement includes a pintle on the outlet port affixed to the well casing at the wall opening and a link pivotally connected to the elbow adaptor, which cooperate to locate the elbow adaptor in operative communication with the outlet port when the adaptor is lowered into the well casing and to release the elbow adaptor from such operative communication simply by lifting.

A pipe connector having a duct therethrough for connecting a lateral pipe to a well casing and having an inner casing connector provided with a tubular stem which extends through a hole in the well casing wall. Mounted on this stem externally of the casing wall are a casing contacting O-ring gasket, a follower washer, a stem O-ring gasket and a compression nut which compresses the gaskets into fluid - tight engagement with the casing wall and the stem upon which they are mounted. THE CASING IS DIVIDED INTO SEVERAL PARTS BY A COUPLING. A PAIR OF PACKER BODIES ARE HUNG WITHIN THE CASING WITH THE COUPLING THEREBETWEEN. THE PACKER BODIES INCLUDE SUBSTANTIALLY IDENTICAL CORES WITH EACH CORE BEING DIVIDED INTO COMPLEMENTARY ADJACENT PASSAGES BY AN S-SHAPED WALL. WATER AND ELECTRICAL CONDUIT PASS THROUGH THE CORES, AND THE CONDUIT ALSO PASSES THROUGH THE TUBULAR CONNECTOR EXTENDING BETWEEN THE BODIES. THE PACKER BODIES ARE SEALED TO THE CASING WALL TO FORM A CENTRAL CHAMBER SO THAT WATER WITHIN THE CHAMBER PRESSURIZES THE INSIDE OF THE COUPLING. THE SEAL ON THE LOWER PACKER BODY IS A GENERALLY CUP-SHAPED RING.
