Abstract:
In a rotary switch, a latching portion having a recess or a hole provided in a decorative cover engages with a locking portion having a protrusion provided on an operating knob, and a catching portion of a rotary body contacts with an inner side of the locking portion on one side closer to the rotary body. The decorative cover is thus attached to the operating body.
Abstract:
An input device that may work in combination with an electronic device is provided. The input device is configured to input one or more adjustable parameters to the electronic device. The input device uses a plurality of concentric rotary dials to input the one or more adjustable parameters. The concentric rotary dials are co-planar with one another, and share a common center, axis or origin with one inside the other. The concentric rotary dials may have different radii from one another. Further, the concentric rotary dials have a plurality of indicia on one surface of the concentric rotary dials (such as the upper surface). Or, the indicia may be on a surface adjacent to the concentric rotary dials (such as on a non-movable faceplate). A user may move the concentric rotary dials to one or more settings in order to select one of the plurality of indicia.
Abstract:
A backlight for an appliance knob provides a light pipe that may receive light from a light source fixed behind a console at a variety of different extensions permitting ready adjustment of the light pipe to fit closely behind the appliance knob with different console thicknesses and tolerances.
Abstract:
A multi-function light switch unit mountable to an interior panel of an automotive vehicle has a rotatable outer ring controlling a main headlamp, two pushbutton panels within the outer ring controlling additional lights, and an extendable module within the outer ring having at two rotary controllers for controlling other lights. The extendable module is movable with between an extended position wherein it projects from the front surface of the light switch unit such that the rotary controllers are exposed in a manually operative position in front of the push button panels, and a retracted position wherein the rotary controllers are behind the front surface of the light switch unit.
Abstract:
A shaft of a rotary switch, for example, useful as a control for an appliance, such as a washing machine, incorporates an LED at the end of the shaft and projecting light laterally from the shaft to provide an indication of the rotary position of the corresponding knob with respect to printed indicia on a console. The LED may be powered by slip rings incorporated into the rotary switch and communicating directly with line power as controlled by the limiting resistor and the shaft may include a controlled breakage feature providing LED conductors that are recessed within the shaft in the event of shaft breakage to reduce the chance of operator contact with line voltage.
Abstract:
A radiation module capable of resisting reverse flow of hot fluid includes a fan, a radiator and a retaining tool. The fan provides an inlet and an outlet. The radiator is connected to the outlet of the fan. The retaining tool secures the radiator to a heat generation part. At least a baffle is provided in the radiation module. The fluid enters the fan via the inlet and flows toward the radiator via the outlet to cool the heat-generating component and the hot fluid moving outward the radiator is resisted entering the inlet with the baffle part so as to enhance heat dissipation efficiency.
Abstract:
Control, comprising a knob (12a) with a prism (20) that has an axial part (22) located centrally in the knob, with a symbol display surface (28) at an external end (30) of the knob, and a part (24) arranged at an angle to the central part for receiving incident light from a symbol illuminated by a light source (34), which symbol is on a stationary disc element (32) located at an end of the knob (12a) facing away from the external end (30) and concentric with this, in order to be able to display different symbols by optical projection towards the symbol display surface (28) depending upon the rotational position of the knob (12a).
Abstract:
A luminous turning button for an electric circuit, comprising a handle (20) that is mounted so as to pivot about an axis (X) to actuate at least one electric switch unit (12) and is illuminated by a light source (S) substantially disposed along the axis (X), the handle (20) comprising a cap (22) forming a disk (22B) and a gripping tab (22A) that protrudes in a diametral plane, characterized in that the cap (21) is made of translucent or transparent. material capable of allowing the light to travel to the outside, the gripping tab (22A) being hollow and that it covers an integrated mechanical base (21) made of opaque and mechanically strong material.
Abstract:
A rotary knob, particularly an illuminant rotary knob, provides function selection and execution through single-handed operation. The invention includes a light transparent light guide to couple with a compiling controller to facilitate user operations. A plurality of illuminant elements are located around the compiling controller to project light through the light guide to give the rotary knob an illuminant effect.
Abstract:
In a backlighted knob, as for automotive use, an indicator and a light pipe are molded simultaneously so as to be intimately bonded to each other, in a translucent structure. A polymeric body, which comprises a front wall and a central hub, is molded around the translucent structure as to cause the front wall and the translucent structure to be intimately bonded to each other. An outer cover is molded so as to cover an outer face of the front wall, except that the indicator is exposed through an aperture in the front wall and through an aperture in the outer cover. The indicator and the light pipe are translucent. The polymeric body and the outer cover are opaque. The indicator exhibits a light color, such as white, in ambient light. The light pipe is tinted so as to cause the indicator to exhibit a color contrasting with the light color when the light pipe is backlighted.
