摘要： A cellular telephone includes a processor with coupled memory, a message speaker, and a plurality of telephone numbers and a plurality of audible messages stored in memory. A plurality of buttons is provided, each button associated with one of the plurality of audible messages and one of the plurality of telephone numbers, each button causing the cellular telephone to play the audible message associated with the button when the button is pressed. A send button causes the cellular telephone to dial the telephone number associated with one of the plurality of buttons after the one of the plurality of buttons was pressed. The telephone restricts outgoing call usage based on selectably programmed buttons.

摘要： A facsimile machine has a key input part having a plurality of operation keys, a communication unit for communicating data with an exterior facsimile, a storage unit for storing an emergency message and at least one facsimile number, and a control unit for reading out the emergency message from the storage unit as any one operation key is selected among a plurality of operation keys on the key input part under the emergency notice mode. The control unit further directs the communications unit to transmit the emergency message to at least one registered facsimile numbers. Thus, even a person who has a poor recognition of a telephone number or numbers and requires care by other people, can easily send out an emergency message to a guardian at a remote place by a simple key operation.

摘要： An emergency-use-only cellular phone provides for contacting and establishing full duplex voice communication with emergency personnel at an emergency response center with the press of a single activation button. When the activation button is pressed a first time, the following functions are initiated: (1) electrical power from a power supply is provided to a cellular transmitter and receiver, (2) the cellular receiver is activated to search for an available channel from among A or B cellular system channels, (3) an emergency telephone number is accessed from memory, and (4) the cellular transmitter is activated to establish communication with the emergency response center. Since all of these functions are initiated by pressing a single activation button, communication with the emergency response center may be established simply and speedily, even under stressful conditions.
