Abstract:
A scan unit improved in stability and reliability, and an image forming apparatus having the same. The scan unit includes a scan frame having a document tray for putting a document thereon; a reading sensor moving under the document tray and thereby reading the document; a cover selectively opening and closing the document tray; and a locking unit locking and releasing the reading sensor together with the cover.
Abstract:
A method for locking a scan carriage which includes providing an automatic scan carriage locking mechanism and automatically unlocking the scan carriage when the scan device is powered up. The automatic scan carriage locking mechanism automatically locks the scan carriage when a predetermined operating mode is detected.
Abstract:
An optical module apparatus equipped with a latch coupler includes a carrier movable on a guiding rod. The guiding rod is coupled with a turnable check member. When the optical module apparatus is on a flat and using position, the check member may pass through a check trough to enable the carrier to move freely and linearly and reciprocally. When the optical module apparatus is mounted in an inclined manner and moved away from the using position, the check member is subject to the gravity force and turns in parallel with the direction of the gravity force, and is latched on the check trough to restrict the moving range of the carrier. Thus the optical module apparatus may be prevented from moving by external forces during transportation and avoid being damaged.
Abstract:
A scanner unit has first and second carriages located below a glass document table. The first carriage has a first frame extending from a front side to a rear side along the document table, i.e. in a main scanning direction. The scanner unit contains, at the front side and the rear side, two rails that support the opposite ends of the first frame such that the first frame can slide in a sub-scanning direction. The scanner unit also contains, at the front side and the rear side, inhibiting elements for receiving a part of the first frame when the first carriage has slid along the rail to a hold position, thereby inhibiting the movement of the first carriage in the main scanning direction, and also for holding another part of the frame together with the rail when the carriage has slid to the hold position, thereby inhibiting the vertically upward movement of the frame.
Abstract:
A method for fixing a movable module of an electronic apparatus is provided, wherein the movable module is installed inside a housing of the electronic apparatus, and the movable module moves when the electronic apparatus is in operation. The method includes providing a fixing member installed on the housing of the electronic apparatus and a positioning member installed on the electronic apparatus, and using a cushion to push the fixing member to the positioning member when the cushion is attached to the housing of the electronic apparatus.
Abstract:
In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, a method comprises placing an image capture device into a packaging, inserting at least a portion of a locking insert into a housing of the image capture device through the packaging, and engaging the portion of the locking insert with a carriage disposed in the housing to substantially immobilize the carriage.
Abstract:
A carriage locking system for a device comprising a housing having a power cord receptacle. The system includes a carriage moveable in the housing. A power cord for the insertion into the power cord receptacle is also includes. A carriage latch is between a latched position to prevent movement of the carriage and an unlatched position allowing for movement of the carriage. The system further comprises a sensor operative to detect the presence of the power cord in the receptacle and operatively associated with the carriage latch such that the carriage latch moves to the unlatched position when the power cord is inserted in said power cord receptacle and the carriage latch moves to the latched position when the power cord is removed from the power cord receptacle.
Abstract:
A carriage fixing screw housing structure in which a carriage fixing screw for externally screwing and fixing carriages of an image reader is held, when not used, by a screw holder formed on a part of an image reader to prevent loss of the carriage fixing screw after removed from the carriage. A screw holder is formed on a part, such as the back face of the main body of an image reader, and includes a holder to hold the threaded part of a carriage fixing screw and a housing 23 to house the head of the fixing screw.
Abstract:
A chassis locking apparatus capable of being unlocked spontaneously is used for fixing the chassis in a scanner. The locking apparatus includes a groove interlinking next to the electric socket, a push rod in the groove, and a revolving locking element. By means of the strength of inserting the plug into the socket on the scanner, the push rod is pushed to move along the groove and hit the locking element, which is originally fixed on the chassis, to make the locking element rotate so that the chassis locking apparatus can be unlocked spontaneously. Therefore, no effort is necessary for a user to unlock the chassis locking apparatus by hand before using the scanner, which is convenient and timesaving.
Abstract:
A movable locking device for a scanner is used to affix a moving mechanical part inside the scanner, such as the optical chassis. The scanner uses a hinge set to allow the lifting cover to rotate relatively to the platform. The locking device includes a movable structure member and a buckling groove, in which the movable structure member implemented with a stopping piece is fit with the holding rod of the hinge set, whereby the holding rod is used as the axis of rotation. The buckling groove located on the movable structure member includes a passing groove and a fixing groove, and their shapes and positions are with respect to the stopping piece. The moving directions for the passing groove and the movable structure member are parallel. The movable structure member has an opening at a side. The fixing groove is perpendicular to the moving direction of the movable structure member. When the stopping piece is inserted into the passing groove, the movable structure member is movable. When the stopping piece is disposed in the fixing groove, the movable structure member is stopped without motion.
