摘要： An apparatus and method for removing hair from the surface of skin may include two elongate elements entwined with one another whereby a local mutual twist is formed along the length of the elements. Each of the elements may be held in place and put into tension by a respective one of two structural members. A method for removing hair may include moving the two structural members with the elements in tension, bringing the bottom end of one member closer to the bottom end of the second member such that the coil travels toward the bottom ends of the elements, and then bringing the top end of one member closer to the top end of the second member, such that the coil travels toward the top ends of the elements. As the coil travels between the top and bottom ends of the elements, it extracts hairs from the skin.

Upon rotating the pincer-parts around the rotation mechanism back and forth in opposite rotation directions, the knots respectively move along a movement-path, where the knots enable capturing the hairs of the subject by tightening around the subject's hairs and plucking them by moving along the movement path, when tightened.

摘要： The present invention is a hybrid epilator device comprising an epilation unit for gripping and plucking hairs from a skin surface and at least one razor blade edge to shave off hairs growing on the skin surface. The blade edge defines a use direction along which it is effectuated that hairs are shaved off when the razor blade is drawn over the skin surface during operation. The razor blade is arranged behind the epilation unit with respect to the use direction. The epilation unit and the razor blade are mounted for simultaneous contact with the skin surface, where during operation the epilation unit grips and plucks out hairs from the skin surface and subsequently the razor blade shaves off remaining hairs growing on the same skin surface in a single stroke.

The plucking cylinder carries a plurality of pinching units. Each pinching unit is composed of a first blade and a second blade which are arranged in an opposed relation with each other. Each pinching unit has a pinching length extending circumferentially of the plucking cylinder. At least one of the first blade and the second blade is movable toward and away from the other of the first blade and the second blade to move between an opened position for making a gap and a pinch position for pinching the hair. A pinching mechanism is configured to drive the at least one of the first blade and the second blade. A plucking mechanism is configured to rotate the plucking cylinder. The at least one of the first blade and the second blade is formed at a portion intermediate its pinching length with a cutout.
