摘要： A method and ducting system for collection of hot exhaust gases from paint curing oven heaters is disclosed for heat energy recovery in which a large collector duct is extended above the paint curing oven and into which is drawn large volumes of slightly warmed air heated by radiation from the paint curing oven or from secondary warm air sources. The vent stack of each paint curing oven heater is extended into the interior of the collector duct, directing the hot exhaust gases into the center of the large volume air stream in order to cool the gases and allow the collection without the need for insulated collection ducting, thermal expansion joints or flow balancing dampers. The heated air volume is passed through the heat recovery exchanger unit prior to being exhausted to the atmosphere. In one alternate version, the collector duct is mounted directly to the roof of the paint curing oven and in communication with an air space formed in the roof and side wall panels, which collects air heated by the roof and walls, as well as any gas leakage from the interior of the oven. In another variation, a positive pressure is created in the air space to preclude leakage from the oven interior.

摘要： An energy conserving device for preventing loss of heat energy from a heater to a chimney by means of a fluid gas heat trap to choke off either chimney draft and/or heated convectional air currents lost to the chimney when the heater is OFF but allowing combustion gasses to vent freely to the chimney when such gasses are generated. The device also acts as a diverter for either up or down drafts from the chimney to direct them away from the heater. In another form when the device is used with a forced air type furnace, the device in addition provides heat interchange between room air and the hot gasses in the trap. This then heated air is drawn into the circulating system of the furnace adding to its temperature while lowering the temperature of the vented combustion gasses, to lessen the heat loss up the chimney.

摘要： A venting system for the combustion chamber of a gas-fired heating plant has an elongate diverter box arranged vertically of the heating plant exteriorly thereof and having an upper portion and a lower portion with the latter having a bottom provided with a substantial opening disposed well above the base of the heating plant for the free admission of atmospheric air surrounding the heating plant into the diverter box and with the upper portion having selected openings for the reception of horizontally disposed pipings from the flue outlet for the combustion chamber and for the chimney flue with a vertical baffle depending from the closed top of the upper portion a substantial vertical extent into the diverter box and dividing it into a flue outlet section and a chimney flue section with said sections having thermostat means to indicate exteriorly of the sections the temperature of the gases therein and with a safety limit switch housed in the flue outlet section below the lower free end of the baffle and being protected by a barrier plate from cold down drafts from the chimney flue.

摘要： The makeup air device includes a front chamber, a lower wall of which is adapted to force rising smoke and the like into an intake of a grease extraction ventilator. A depending passage at the lower front of the device has an air outlet which discharges air toward the ventilator intake. An adjustment baffle having a forwardly slanted lower flange is moved in the outlet between a position of maximum flow and a position of no flow. Louvers in the front wall of the chamber above the passage are adjustable, so that different amounts of fresh air may flow into the room in which the cooking equipment is placed.

摘要： A damper mechanism for kitchen ventilators including a damper door journalled for movement between open and closed positions within the ventilator system. A spring urges the damper door toward its closed position, and a mechanical latch located outside the ventilator system includes a first latching element connected to the door and a second latching element mounted for movement between latched and unlatched positions. A solenoid moves the second latching element to its unlatched position when the solenoid is energized, thereby releasing the damper door for movement to its closed position. A manual reset plunger is connected to the damper door.

摘要： In a kitchen, a ventilating hood is disposed over a cooking unit and has an exhaust duct and a return duct, both extending through the roof to the exterior. An exhaust blower is connected to the exhaust duct and an intake blower to the intake duct, outside the building. A by-pass duct extends from the exhaust blower outlet to the intake blower inlet and a damper in the duct is responsive to temperature sensed in the intake duct to by-pass a portion of the air handled by the exhaust blower into the intake blower for return through the hood to the area above the cooking unit. Filtering means are provided in the hood.

摘要： A kitchen hood ventilator comprising a casing including a warm air inlet, a cool air inlet, and an air outlet. A filter is mounted in the casing in the path of air flowing through the warm air inlet, and a cool air duct extends through the casing from the cool air inlet to a cool air outlet. The kitchen hood ventilator further includes a propeller fan for moving warm air through the filter and from moving cool air through the cool air duct. The propeller fan is driven by a fan motor mounted in the path of cool air flowing through the cool air duct. This permits the use of a relatively small motor that operates at substantially full power when rotating the propeller fan.

An electric motor driven fan within the hood may be manually controlled, but additionally a safety circuit is provided to energize said fan motor automatically when cooking is being done even if said manual switch has not been actuated. Said safety circuit is also arranged automatically to shut off said fan motor, and if desired to energize a signal, in the event of a flash fire or the like. The automatic energization and de-energization of said fan motor is accomplished by means of self-resetting sensor-thermostats. The safety circuit does not interfere with fan speed control by means of said manual control.
