摘要： A combination bit for cutting and stripping insulation from a solid flexible conductor wire and wrapping a stripped end portion of the wire on a terminal in a series of helical convolutions includes a cooperable sleeve having a wall portion forming a guide surface for permitting insertion of the wire into a groove formed on the periphery of the bit. A cutting blade disposed in the groove includes opposed straight cutting edge portions one of which is proportioned such that it engages the insulation of the conductor wire initially in a position which places said edge parallel to a cooperative flat surface portion on said sleeve and tangent to the circumference of the wire insulation. The bit and sleeve are proportioned so as to provide for initial engagement of the insulation by the conductor wire within approximately five degrees of angular rotation of the bit from its starting point.

摘要： The wire cutting, skinning and wrapping tool includes a hollow sleeve, a knife carried by the sleeve, a bit provided with a longitudinal groove which is able to slide in a forward and backward direction in the sleeve, the bit and the knife skinning an insulated wire over a predetermined length and a means to move the bit from a backward to a forward position during the skinning operation. The sleeve is provided by normally closed sleeve halves with the insulated wire opening the sleeve halves during the skinning operation and with the sleeve halves closing again when the bit is in the forward position after each skinning operation. The length of skinned wire is captured between the bit groove and the closed sleeve halves.

摘要： The valve includes an input port and two output ports and an arrangement to cause fluid pulses to appear at the output ports as a result of the appearance of fluid pulses alternately at the inlet port. The fluid pulses fed to the inlet port directly appears at the outlet ports and directly causes the valve to pass at least through three successive positions for every two successive pulses at the inlet port. This valve controls the operation of a pneumatic control circuit of a wire cutting, skinning and wrapping tool which is mounted in the handgrip of the tool.

摘要： The present disclosure describes a wire guide for use with a manually operated wire wrap gun. Such guns are used to make solderless wrapped connections on terminals emanating from a circuit board. The wire guide of the present invention is especially useful with multi-spindle guns, such as the dual spindle gun utilized for simultaneously wrapping both wires of a twisted pair or miniature coaxial cable. The present wire guide which is fastened to the sleeve portion of the gun, permits the operator to front load the gun quickly and reliably by directing the multiple wires into the respective wire feed openings of the wrapping tool bits housed within the sleeves. Thus, the guide eliminates the tedious task of inserting wires into the gun even when the feed openings are visible to the operator; and of greater importance, it is indispensable in a front loading operation where the gun is in a fixed mounted position directed away from the operator and the openings cannot be seen, as is the case with semi-automated numerical positioning systems.

摘要： A tool for cutting a wire to length and then wrapping it around a terminal post includes an air motor driving through a planetary gear reduction to rotate a spindle, and a wire contacting bit rotated by the spindle. In order to develop sufficient torque to sever the wire at the bit, there is provided a member constrained to move helically with respect to the spindle housing, and the member is actuated by an air operated piston. A clutch between said member and the spindle disengages upon predetermined axial travel of said member to permit free turning of the spindle by the air motor to accomplish the wire wrapping operation. A spring returns said member to its initial position after the supply of air to the air motor and piston is cut off and the clutch automatically aligns the spindle and bit into initial position for insertion of another wire. One end of the spindle is supported within the bore of the inner race of a anti-friction bearing assembly in the housing. One end of a bit driving shaft is supported in the same bore and adjacent parts of the spindle and shaft are formed to provide a driving connection. The rotary bit is enclosed within a stationary sleeve and the wire is severed at the junction of an axial groove on the periphery of the bit and an axial groove on the stationary sleeve. Discharge of exhaust air from the tool is silenced by an oil collecting filter mounted within the handle of the tool.

The tool has a hollow central tubular member with a helical thread on one end. A second tubular member having flexible collet jaws fits over the center tube for replacing coil wire wraps. An outer tubular member fits over the second tubular member and when pushed down forces the collet jaws against the wire wrap to tighten the coil.
