摘要: A method enhances brightness in video frames of a video during streams. The method includes determining, by a processor, that a first video frame has low light. The method further includes applying, by the processor, a linear correction to provide a first brightness enhancement in the first video frame that modifies a first brightness of a predetermined darkest percentage of pixels to be less than a darkness threshold value or a second brightness of a predetermined lightest percentage of the pixels to be greater than a lightness threshold value. The method further includes averaging, by the processor, the first brightness enhancement of the first video frame with a set of brightness enhancements corresponding to previous video frames to generate a modified video.

摘要: A display device is a display device having a display that displays an image based on a received image signal. This display device includes: a memory that stores maximum luminance information regarding maximum luminance that the display can display; a determiner that determines whether the image signal is an HDR image signal specified by relative luminance; a first converter that, when the determiner determines that the image signal is the HDR image signal specified by the relative luminance, subjects luminance information obtained from the image signal to nonlinear conversion based on a luminance characteristic of the display; and a second converter that converts the luminance information that has been subjected to the nonlinear conversion by the first converter such that the display displays an image at increased luminance within a luminance range determined in accordance with the maximum luminance information.

摘要: Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for luminance-adaptive opto-electrical transfer and luminance-adaptive electro-optical transfer. For video transmission and compression, opto-electrical transfer and electro-optical transfer are required. The surround luminance and luminance range of an image are taken into consideration when performing opto-electrical transfer and electro-optical transfer. An opto-electrical transfer function may be derived based on a contrast sensitivity function that takes into consideration the surround luminance of an image. Also, parameters relevant to surround luminance may be signaled from an encoding apparatus to a decoding apparatus, and an electro-optical transfer function may be derived based on the parameters.
