Abstract: In an embodiment, a local memory dedicated to one or more hardware accelerators in a system may include at least two portions: a volatile portion and a non-volatile portion. Data that is reused from iteration to iteration of the hardware accelerator (e.g. constants, instruction words, etc.) may be stored in the non-volatile portion. Data that varies from iteration to iteration may be stored in the volatile portion. Both the local memory and the hardware accelerators may be powered down between iterations, saving power. The non-volatile portion need only be initialized at a first iteration, allowing the amount of time that the hardware accelerators and the local memory are powered up to be lessened for subsequent iterations since the reused data need not be reloaded in the subsequent iterations.

Abstract: An electronic device displays a first user interface that corresponds to a first application, and detects on a touch-sensitive surface a first gesture that includes movement of a contact in a respective direction on the touch-sensitive surface. In response to detecting the first gesture, the device, in accordance with a determination that the movement of the contact is in a first direction, replaces display of the first user interface with display of a second user interface that corresponds to a second application; and in accordance with a determination that the movement of the contact is in a second direction, distinct from the first direction, displays a first system user interface for interacting with a system-level function.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for defining a training data set to include biosignals and categorical labels representative of a context. For example, a categorical label may indicate whether a user was performing a difficult or easy mental task while the biosignal was being recorded. A set of first layers in a neural network can be trained using a portion of the training data set associated with a first set of users and at least one second layer can be trained using a portion of the training data set associated with a particular other user. The neural network can then be used to process other biosignals from the particular other user to generate predicted categorical context labels.

Abstract: A conversation detector processes microphone signals and other sensor signals of a headphone to declare a conversation and configures a filter block to activate a transparency audio signal. It then declares an end to the conversation based on processing one or more of the microphone signals and the other sensor signals, and in response deactivates the transparency audio signal. The conversation detector monitors an idle duration in which an OVAD and a TVAD are both or simultaneously indicating no activity and declares the end to the conversation in response to the idle duration being longer than an idle threshold. Other aspects are also described and claimed.

Abstract: A base station serves as a positioning node for locating a user equipment (UE). The base station receives information from a network component indicating the UE is transmitting positioning sounding reference signals (SRS), monitors for the positioning SRS based on, at least, the information and when positioning SRS are received from the UE, transmits SRS information to the network.

Abstract: An electronic device can include a housing, a securement feature, a noise generator, a receiver, and a processor. The housing can define an internal volume. The securement feature can be connected to at least a first side and a second side of the housing and can extend between the first side and the second side. The noise generator can be connected to the securement featured and be configured to generate a sound with a frequency. The receiver can be disposed within the internal volume and be configured to receive the sound. The processor can be disposed within the internal volume and in communication with the receiver, and be configured to process the sound and perform an operation.

Abstract: A method that includes receiving audio content; receiving a volume level at which the audio content is to be played back through a speaker of the headset that is worn by a user; determining a noise level of environmental noise at the headset; determining a noise exposure level by the user based on the volume level, a content level of the audio content, and the noise level; determining whether a content level of the audio content is less than a threshold that is based on the noise exposure level; and responsive to determining that the content level is less than the threshold, adjusting the content level by applying a gain to the audio content such that the gain-adjusted content level of the audio content is at least equal to the noise exposure level.

Abstract: The subject technology provides for stroke based control of handwriting input. The disclosed stroke based control facilitates selection, copy, paste, search, data detection and other operations for handwritten electronic text. The selection of text represented by handwritten strokes can be performed without drawing a lasso or other loop around the desired text, by using known boundaries of words and phrases in stroke space. Selection of text in this manner allows copy and/or paste of recognized words or phrases, of images of the words or phrases, and/or of the strokes themselves. Boundaries, in stroke space, of actionable data represented by the strokes can also allow action options to be provided when a user interacts with strokes within the boundary.
