摘要: Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to identification of tumor location. More specifically, some embodiments of the present technology relate automated tracking of fiducial marker clusters in x-ray images for the real-time identification of tumor location and guidance of radiation therapy beams. Some embodiments use processed CBCT projection images, an automated routine of reconstruction, forward-projection, tracking, and stabilization generated static templates of the marker cluster at arbitrary viewing angles. Breathing data can be incorporated into some embodiments, resulting in dynamic templates dependent on both viewing angle and breathing motion. In some embodiments, marker clusters can be tracked using normalized cross correlations between templates (either static or dynamic) and CBCT projection images.

摘要: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for beam steering of a circuit-board based phase array of antennas. An RF signal can be distributed via coplanar waveguide conductors to a plurality of microstrip line conductors arranged in a dual-frequency liquid crystal medium. A low frequency control signal can be injected into each of the microstrip line conductors, preferably while each line is still in a coplanar waveguide form. This low frequency control signal modified a local permittivity of the dual-frequency liquid crystal in the vicinity of a corresponding one of the microstrip lines, thereby imparting a controlled phase delay to the RF signal on each microstrip line. This in turn allows a phase-controlled RF signal to be received at each antenna in the array.

摘要: A lacrimal drug delivery device includes a reservoir configured to hold a drug. The reservoir is moveable between a relaxed state and an expanded state. A connector is fluidly coupled to the reservoir and a lumen is formed in the connector wherein the drug is configured to flow from the reservoir to an delivery site through the lumen. A hydrogel is within the lumen and configured to absorb the drug from the reservoir and deliver the drug from the lumen at the delivery site. The hydrogel includes a first section which absorbs the drug at a first rate of absorption. A delivery guide is detachably coupled to the reservoir to deliver the reservoir into a lacrimal sac of a patient.

摘要: A method for forming an oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalyst (200, 900) may include providing a carbon (210, 910) supported platinum nanoparticle (220, 920) substrate (Pt/C) (110) and applying a tungsten nitride (WN) film (940) onto the surface of the Pt/C substrate (210, 220, 910, 920) using atomic layer deposition (ALD) (120). The Pt/C substrate (210, 220, 910, 920) with the WN film (940) may then be oxidized at a low temperature (130) and annealed at a high temperature in order to reduce WN to metallic tungsten (W) (140). The metallic W forms a blocking layer (230, 930) over coarse Pt nanoparticles (220, 920) and improves the activity and the durability of the Pt/C catalyst (900, 200) when used in fuel cells or related applications.

摘要: A monolithic photonic resonator includes a bulk optic with first and second superpolished facets, and a high-reflectivity coating applied to each of the first and second superpolished facets. The superpolished facets form an optical resonator. The bulk optic is a single piece of an optical material that is solid, i.e., has no internal holes, gaps, or pockets. The bulk optic therefore serves as an intraresonator optical medium while still supporting a finesse of 10,000 or more. The superpolished facets may be counterfacing to form a Fabry-Perot cavity. Alternatively, the bulk optic may include forms one or more additional facets off of which light inside the bulk optic undergoes total internal reflection. The monolithic photonic resonator may be mounted in a support structure that minimizes the overall vibration sensitivity of the resonator's resonance frequency.
