Abstract:
An ESD protection circuit allows a certain level of ESD current to flow through a protected circuit, and actuates a bypass path for greater ESD current levels when the sensed current reaches a threshold level. For a protected circuit having a pair of differential input terminals and a reference voltage terminal, the bypass path is provided between an input terminal which receives an ESD and the reference voltage terminal when the reference voltage is fixed, and between the two input terminals when the reference voltage is floating. The bypass circuit is preferably implemented with a pair of bipolar transistors of a first conductivity that are actuated by an ESD current flow through the protected circuit, and a pair of bipolar transistors of opposite conductivity that are actuated by current flows through the first conductivity transistors.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to a method for separating glass sheets in a stack by providing a coating of substantially parallel, spaced apart strips of a powdered separating agent on one of the broad surfaces of the sheet leaving uncoated regions of the glass between the strips. When these glass sheets are stacked together, the are arranged so that the coating is carried on only one of the two proximate surfaces of the glass sheets.
Abstract:
An improved laboratory fume hood is the subject of the present invention. A cabinet structure presents an enclosed work area defined by sidewalls, a back wall, and an access opening. Each of the sidewalls presents first and second planar surfaces disposed in spaced parallel planes and interconnected by a third surface disposed at an acute angle relative to the plane of one of the first two surfaces. This third surface provides a mounting area for hose connectors which increases the effective work area and reduces the danger of clothing catching on the hose connectors. A vertically mounted sash covers the access opening and is movable between a lowered closed position and a raised open position. A fixture mounted in front of the sash provides means for mounting a light source. A removable cover on the side of the sash opposite the work area cooperates with the sash to define an air duct for directing add air into the access opening. In this regard, air foils are presented for directing the air into the opening at an angle of approximately 90.degree. relative to the plane of the opening. These same openings are utilized to draw in outside air which passes over the top of the sash when the latter is partially closed.
Abstract:
A Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) is provided to receive a coherent input photon in an initial pointer state for producing a continuously variable “faux qubit” in a magic state. The MZI apparatus includes first and second ports, first and second beam-splitters, first and second mirrors, and a modular interaction operator. The emitter produces an input coherent photon in an initial pointer state along an emission direction. The first and second ports are respectively disposed parallel and perpendicular to the emission direction. The first and second beam-splitters are disposed respectively collinearly with the emission direction and between the first and second ports parallel to and offset from the emission direction. The first and second mirrors are disposed respectively offset from and collinearly with the emission direction. The modular interaction operator is disposed between the first mirror and the second beam-splitter for measuring interaction therebetween to generate a post-selected magic state photon.
Abstract:
A welding electrode according to the disclosure includes a body. A head is secured to the body and includes an aperture through which a pin extends. A polymer insulating sleeve is arranged between the pin and the head, for example. The sleeve material extends radially from an inner diameter to an outer diameter. The outer diameter engages the head, and the inner diameter is in close proximity to and engagement with the pin, which slides axially relative to the sleeve. The head and sleeve include first and second interlocking features that cooperate with one another to retain the sleeve in the aperture. The sleeve is arranged inboard from an outer face of the head, which is used to support a work piece.
Abstract:
A shower head unit having at least one preferably rain like shower head, where the rain like shower head is connect to a support member for an overhead shower. The support member is adapted to be positioned between opposing walls of a bath tub, stall enclosure or outdoor shower having preferably a wall water pipe and a wall shower head attached to the wall water pipe. The support member is a pipe that has first and second ends and a nipple adapted to be coupled to the wall water pipe near the first end for carrying shower water to the rain like shower head and is located above the wall shower head.
Abstract:
A method of treating hyperesthesia, paresthesia, dolor, and pruritus caused by an insect or arthropod sting or bite, or a skin contact with a noxious weed or plant is disclosed. The method includes topically applying a dermatological composition containing an avermectin compound to an affected area immediately after said sting or bite, or said skin contact occurs. The method further includes moistening the affected area first prior to application of the dermatological composition.
