Abstract:
The invention in its illustrative or suggestive embodiment comprises a series of multiple forms connected in continuous web style with feed holes along at least one side margin. Each multiple form is divided longitudinally of the web, by tear perforations, into a plurality of separate unit form areas, adapted to bear a common identifying indicia. One of said areas, possibly an end one, carries a relatively small paper slip having one surface secured to the area by means of an adhesive of sufficient tenacity to carry it through the treating or printing procedure but removable from the area by stripping the slip therefrom. To this paper slip is removable secured a label or tab of durable material and coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive such as for securement to a licence plate of a motor car. The outer surface of the paper slip is treated so that the adhesive on the tab will not permanently adhere thereto and the tab can be removed from its temporary adhesion when ready to be applied to the plate, but will adhere sufficiently to the web during the imprinted operation. The paper slip is preferably divided into two parts by a serrated line of division to facilitate the separation of the tab by bending, whereby one part can be removed and the corresponding area of the tab applied to the license plate, while the operator grasps the other part of the tab while it is still covered by the other part of the divided strip, so that the pressure-sensitive adhesive will not be damaged by contact by the fingers.
Abstract:
Guide means for attachment to a typewriter so that continuous stationery can be guided to the platen of the typewriter comprises a backing plate which is adapted to be secured to the typewriter and a guide plate pivotally secured to the backing plate. The guide plate has a throat through which continuous stationery passes to the typewriter. The guide plate is pivoted upwardly, so that the leading edge of the continuous stationery is lifted from the platen, when it is required to type an additional letters and envelopes.
Abstract:
A paper trimmer for individually trimming opposite sides of a paper sheet a predetermined amount having means for inducing a curl in the sheet for the purpose of both aligning the sheet and initiating its movement toward a pair of cutters without the assistance of the operator.
Abstract:
A pocket register for containing a supply of manifolding material comprising a container for said material, a writing surface mounted within the container over which a strip of the material may be extended after being withdrawn from the interior of the container, means on the writing surface for engaging sheets of transfer material to be interposed between superposed portions of several sheets of manifolding material and adapted to limit extension of the withdrawn sheets, and a substantially open, easily locked cover means for positioning the strips of withdrawn record material onto the writing surface thereby enabling writing to take place.
Abstract:
THE DISCLOSURE BROADLY RELATES TO METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SERIALLY OPERATING UPON PLASTIC SHEETS TO PROVIDE SPRUE FREE, SOLID PLASTIC ALPHA-NUMERIC EMBOSSMENTS ADHERENT TO THE SHEETS, AS FOR EXAMPLE PLASTIC CREDIT CARDS. CARDS ARE SEQUENTIALLY TRANSPORTED TO ONE OR MORE EMBOSSMENT STATIONS WHEN RELATIVELY MOVABLE MULTIPLE DIES ARE AUTOMATICALLY SELECTED IN PREDETERMINED COMBINATIONS TO PRESENT PERIPHERAL RECESSES IN THE DIE MEMBERS TO THE CARDS AND INJECT HEATED PLASTIC THROUGH THE DIE MEMBERS ONTO THE CARDS TO FORM THE NUMERIC OF ALPHABETICAL EMBOSSMENTS WHICH ARE BONDED TO THE CARDS. THE EMBOSSED CARDS ARE THEN SEQUENTIALLY TRANSPORTED TO ANOTHER STATION WHERE THE EMBOSSMENTS ARE CUT TO SEVER SPRUES AND FORM IMPRINTING SURFACES WITH LESS DEFLECTION THAN CONVENTIONAL HOLLOW EMBOSSMENTS DURING DOCUMENT IMPRINTING.

1,251,110. Delivering sheets. LAMSON PARAGON Ltd. 12 Dec., 1969 [27 Jan., 1969], No. 60642/69. Heading B8R. [Also in Division B6] Strippers.-Envelopes 35 are stripped from a carrier web 34 by a stripper blade 16, the web being drawn through the apparatus by rollers 31, 32 and the envelopes being delivered into a receiver 11. Flanges 24 pass between the edges of the web and those of the envelopes and guide the assembly to the stripping station. A plate carried on pivoted wire support 18 ensures orderly delivery into the receiver 11.
