Abstract: Soft embolic implants exhibiting secondary shapes are disclosed. Some of the embolic implants exhibit progressively increasing softness from the distal end to the proximal end of the coil. The embolic implants have a primary coil, an optional second coil, a shape wire, and a stretch resistant fiber disposed in the lumen of the primary coil. An optional distal support wire is also disclosed. The embolic implants include a proximal constraint assembly configured to be releaseably retained by a delivery device. Disposed near each end of some of the implants are elliptical hole washers through which the shape wire and the stretch resistant fiber are threaded. The embolic implants have a primary, linear configuration for delivery through an implant tool, and a secondary configuration after deployment from the implant tool. The secondary shape can be J-shaped, helical, spherical, complex, or a combination of shapes.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for measuring and identifying real-world tremors in order to calculate and display an anti-tremor in a virtual reality world. A system may identify a tremor in a body part, such as hands, and measure the tremor movement from, e.g., body sensors, to calculate an opposite movement and animate virtual hands performing the reverse tremor motion. Depicting inverse motions, such as an anti-tremor, may be used in a few ways to therapeutically train and exercise patients to better control their tremors. Providing a visual cue may help a patient interrupt the movement, as well as provide possibilities for therapy or training muscle memory and stimulating nerve and neuron recovery. By displaying an anti-tremor with virtual hands, a VR system may be used to help train or exercise body parts experiencing tremors.

Abstract: A system for generating complementary data for a visual display that includes one or plurality of wearable sensors that collect tracking data for a users position, orientation, and movement. The sensor(s) are in communication with at least one processor that may be configured to receive tracking data, identify missing tracking data, generate complementary data to substitute for missing tracking data, generate a 3D model comprised of tracking data and complementary data, and communicate the 3D model to a display. Complementary tracking data may be generated by comparison to a key pose library, by comparison to past tracking data, or by inverse kinematics.

Abstract: A hemostasis valve for use with catheters in intravascular procedures. The hemostasis valve comprising a sealable fluid channel that bifurcates from a single distal lumen to two proximal lumens. An upper proximal lumen may include a funnel shaped opening to improve aspiration potential. Rotating locking mechanisms are attachable at the ends of the hemostasis valve to interlock coaxial devices or to form seals around coaxial devices. Injection molding may be used to manufacture a hemostasis valve and its components. A mold and core pins may impart external and internal shapes to a molten polymer. Once the polymer has cooled, the molded component is separated from any pins or molds and attached to other molded components to form an assembled hemostasis valve.

Abstract: An aspiration thrombectomy system, comprising an aspiration catheter having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the proximal end of the aspiration catheter comprises a lumen configured to accommodate fluid, a vacuum source comprising a controllable vacuum valve, and a controller configured to detect a change in a connection between the aspiration catheter and the aspiration thrombectomy system, wherein the controller is further configured to change a pulsation protocol associated with the aspiration catheter responsive to the change in the connection between the aspiration catheter and the aspiration thrombectomy system, wherein the pulsation protocol specifies pressure variations and pressure patterns to modulate the vacuum valve to change a level of vacuum at the distal end of the aspiration catheter.

Abstract: A vacuum aspiration control system for use with a vacuum source and an aspiration catheter includes a connecting tube configured to connect the vacuum source with a lumen of an aspiration catheter. An on-off valve is operatively coupled to the connecting tube, and a sensing unit is configured to detect flow within the connecting tube and provide a signal representative of flow. A controller receives the signal to decide whether to open or close the valve. The controller may automatically close the valve to stop flow when flow through the connecting tube is unrestricted, or according to a predetermined timing sequence. The controller can further periodically open a closed valve to determine whether flow has entered an acceptable range. The controller can still further engage pulsed aspiration with a pressure manipulation assembly when flow is restricted or occluded.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a flushing catheter device, flushing catheter components, and methods for making the same. A flushing catheter includes one or more flush segments comprised of one or more flush ports along a length of catheter body. A preferred method for making a flushing catheter incorporates a retrofit including one or more flush segments. Flushing catheters may be nested within each other's lumens to form a multi-catheter system. Flush segments may enable radial fluid communication between the many lumens and annular lumens of a multi-catheter system, e.g. intraluminal fluid communication. A multi-catheter system including flushing catheters may be entirely purged of air with a single step of fluid injection. A flushing catheter may include a tapered distal end to further enhance the ease of procedure with a multi-catheter system.

Abstract: Vessel occlusion coils disclosed that have a primary configuration for delivery and a secondary configuration for deployment that is conferred upon the devices by a stretch resistant member. In the secondary configuration, the stretch resistant member forms a stiffer coil and may have a greater diameter, and a more complex shape having some interior space, at one end than at the other end, for improved anchoring of the device in the vessel. The methods include intravascular delivery and deployment for implanting one or more vessel occlusion devices.
