    Abstract: An aspiration catheter assembly including an outer catheter having an elongate tubular body and a distal valve at a distal end of the aspiration catheter assembly, and an inner catheter configured to communicate with a vacuum source, the inner catheter being within the outer catheter and including an aspiration lumen for receiving at least a portion of a clot. The distal valve is configured to be opened and closed at the distal end of the aspiration catheter assembly, and the distal end of the aspiration catheter assembly is configured as a separator such that the portion of the clot can be separated at the distal end and drawn into the aspiration catheter assembly.

    Abstract: An electrosurgical instrument for delivering pressurised fluid to a biological tissue, and for delivering radiofrequency electromagnetic energy and/or microwave frequency EM energy to the biological tissue. The electrosurgical instrument comprises a flexible shaft with an instrument tip connected to its distal end. The instrument tip comprises a planar body made of a first dielectric material separating a first conductive element from a second conductive element, for delivering EM energy to the biological tissue. The instrument tip has a nozzle for delivering the pressurised fluid directly to the biological tissue. An outer sleeve extends over the flexible shaft and a proximal section of the instrument tip to reinforce the flexible shaft and a junction between the flexible shaft and instrument tip.

    Abstract: Thrombectomy catheter and high-pressure protection systems for protecting a catheter shaft from high-pressure fluid jets. An illustrative thrombectomy catheter may comprise a catheter body including a catheter lumen extending therethrough. A high-pressure fluid supply tube extends through the catheter lumen from the catheter body proximal end region toward the catheter body distal end region. The high-pressure fluid supply tube is configured for communication with a fluid source near the catheter body proximal end region.
