Abstract:
Methods and systems for identifying and mitigating telecommunications management message security threats are disclosed. A distributed security screening platform receives management messages from external sources. The distributed security screening platform identifies messages affecting the status of the same managed resource and applies a time-based security policy to these messages. If the messages are determined to violate the time-based security policy, a mitigating action is performed to protect the managed resource.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for distributing signaling messages among multiple processors for stateful processing and/or sequenced processing of the messages on a per sequence basis are disclosed. A signaling message is received and it is determined whether the signaling message requires stateful and/or sequenced processing. If the signaling message requires stateful and/or sequenced processing, a sequence identifier is computed for the signaling message. The sequence identifier is unique on a per sequence basis. The sequence identifier is then used to distribute the signaling message to an application processor for stateful and/or sequenced processing.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for triggerless screening of WMS messages for delivery with differential quality of service (QoS) are disclosed. Signaling messages are screened to determine whether they contain WMS content. In response to determining that a message contains WMS content, origination and/or destination party information is extracted from the WMS message to determine the QoS associated with the WMS message. The WMS message is then modified to include routing information for delivering the SMS messages to their intended destinations with different qualities of service.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for transmitting user part messages between signaling system seven (SS7) signaling points over an internet protocol (IP) network include receiving, at a signal transfer point, a first SS7 user part message. The first SS7 user part message can be received from a first SS7 signaling point, such as a service switching point (SSP). The first SS7 signaling point is encapsulated in a first IP packet. The first IP packet is transmitted to a second SS7 signaling point over an IP network.
Abstract:
A prepaid SMS screening, accounting, and routing node performs prepaid SMS screening and accounting functions. When the prepaid SMS screening, accounting, and routing node receives an SMS message, it determines whether the originating subscriber is a ported subscriber attempting to access an SMSC from the donor network. If the originating subscriber is a ported subscriber attempting to access a donor network SMSC, the SMS message may be discarded. If the originating subscriber is not a ported subscriber, the prepaid SMS screening, accounting, and routing node determines whether the subscriber is a prepaid subscriber. If the subscriber is a prepaid subscriber, the prepaid SMS screening, routing, and accounting node determines whether the subscriber has sufficient credit to send the SMS message. If the subscriber has sufficient credit to send the message, the prepaid SMS screening, accounting, and routing node debits its accounting database and forwards the message to its intended destination. Prepaid SMS screening and accounting may also be performed for messages directed to subscribers with terminating prepaid SMS service. In such situations, the prepaid SMS screening, accounting, and routing node may screen messages to determine whether the terminating subscriber is a prepaid SMS subscriber, and, if so, debit the terminating subscriber's prepaid SMS account.
Abstract:
The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer readable media for providing a PCRF with an integrated openflow controller. According to one system, a policy and charging rules function (PCRF) is configured to determine policies to apply to network sessions or users. An openflow controller is integrated with the PCRF and configured to provide instructions to telecommunications network elements in an openflow protocol to implement the policies.
Abstract:
According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for subscriber activated policy enhancement. The method may include receiving a policy enhancement code from a user device at a policy enhancement server (PES). The method may further include obtaining at least one policy enhancement corresponding to the policy enhancement code in response to receiving the policy enhancement code from the user device. The method may further include enhancing at least one policy aspect of a policy for the user device based on the policy enhancement.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for providing targeted services to telecommunications network subscribers based on information extracted from network signaling and data traffic are disclosed. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for providing targeted services to telecommunications network subscribers based on information extracted from network signaling and data traffic. The method includes collecting subscriber and network related information from nodes in a telecommunications network, storing the subscriber and network related information in a repository for storing and maintaining that data, analyzing the information stored in the repository to determine subscriber interests, behaviors, and/or preferences, creating policy rules based on determined subscriber interests, behaviors, and/or preferences, and implementing the created policy rules in response to network events.
Abstract:
The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems and computer readable media for using a Diameter routing agent (DRA) to obtain mappings between mobile subscriber identification information and dynamically assigned Internet protocol (IP) addresses and for making the mappings accessible to applications. One exemplary method includes, at a DRA, receiving a Diameter message containing a dynamically assigned IP address and mobile subscriber identification information. The method further includes routing the received Diameter signaling message. The method further includes copying, by the DRA, the IP address and the mobile subscriber identifier from the message. The method further includes making a mapping between the dynamically assigned IP address and the subscriber identification information accessible to applications.
Abstract:
The subject matter described herein includes systems, methods, and computer readable media for adjusting a quota consumption rate. An exemplary method occurs at a first policy node. The method includes detecting a trigger for adjusting a quota consumption rate associated with a subscriber. The method further includes in response to detecting the trigger, adjusting the quota consumption rate associated with the subscriber.
