The second and third electrodes are not in contact with each other and are separated by a gap. The conductor is disposed in accordance with the location of the gap.

    摘要: An array panel is provided. The array panel comprises a substrate, a common electrode, and pixel structures. Each pixel structure comprises a first pixel electrode, a second pixel electrode, and a shield. The first pixel electrode has a central portion, first branches that connect to the central portion, and a connecting portion. The shield overlaps with at least the central portion of the first pixel electrode. The connecting portion connects the ends of at least two of the first branches. The central portion connects perpendicularly with one of the first branches; this branch overlaps with at least part of the common electrode so that the width of this branch is greater than or equal to that of the common electrode. The second pixel electrode, adjacent to the first pixel electrode, comprises a central portion and second branches that connect to the central portion.

    摘要: A pixel structure for a multi-domain vertical alignment liquid crystal display (MVA-LCD) is disclosed. The pixel structure includes a pixel array having a plurality of adjacently arranged sub-pixels; and a first substrate and a second substrate having, respectively, first and second means for controlling tilt angles of liquid crystal molecules between the first and second substrates. The first and second means are alternately disposed to define each of the sub-pixels into a plurality of different azimuthal angle domains. Moreover, each of the sub-pixels also is further defined into at least two different polar angle domains. The azimuthal angle domains and polar angle domains of two adjacent sub-pixels have a mirror-image arrangement.

    摘要: A pixel structure electrically connected to a scan line and a data line, includes an active device, a first pixel electrode, a second pixel electrode, a capacitor coupling electrode and a charge releasing device. The active device is electrically connected to the scan line and the data line. The second pixel electrode is electrically isolated from the first pixel electrode. The capacitor coupling electrode is disposed under the second pixel electrode and electrically connected to the data line through the active device. The charge releasing device is electrically connected to the second pixel electrode. The above-described pixel structure is able to effectively solve the image sticking problem. In addition, further provides an active matrix substrate which is able to avoid the image sticking effect.

    摘要: A device and method for making full color cholesteric displays such as a narrow band and a broad band cholesteric display using high birefringence LC materials with color filtering processes. The invention includes positioning slant reflector(s) in the transmissive portion of the display to reflect backlight into reflection pixels. The LCD can display the same color images in both reflective and transmissive modes, maintain good readability in any ambient, has low power consumption, high brightness, full color capability and has a fabrication process that is compatible with conventional LCD fabrication.
