Abstract:
An image processing device comprises a first feeding unit coupled to a second feeding unit via a sheet feeding path and is configured to feed a sheet toward the second feeding unit in a sheet feeding direction via the sheet feeding path. The first feeding unit comprises a first shaft configured to rotate in the sheet feeding direction, and the second feeding unit comprises a second shaft configured to rotate in the feeding direction. The first feeding unit and the second feeding unit are configured to feed and hold the sheet simultaneously. The image processing device further comprises a first supporting member which rotatably supports the first shaft, a second supporting member which rotatably supports the second shaft, and a third supporting member which rotatably supports the first shaft and/or the second shaft at a location different than the first supporting member and/or the second supporting member.
Abstract:
When a document cover in a closed position is opened, a lower end of a rear cover of the document cover may horizontally push a hung portion of an electric cable inside an image reading apparatus. If a rectangular edge of the lower end contacts the horizontal portion directly, the electric cable containing the horizontal portion may be damaged. Therefore, arc-like projections are formed on the lower end of the rear cover such that the projections contact the horizontal portion. According to this configuration, the damage of the electric cable can be suppressed.
Abstract:
An image scanning device includes a scanning unit configured to scan, at a scanning position, an image of a document, a first discharge portion, a second discharge portion, a conveying unit configured to selectively convey the document along a first conveying path from the scanning position to the first discharge portion, and along a second conveying path from the scanning position to the second discharge portion, a driving unit configured to generate a driving force for driving the conveying unit, and a cover member configured to receive the driving force generated by the driving unit such that the cover member moves between a closed position for covering the second discharge portion and an open position for exposing the second discharge portion.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided that may offer functionalities including printing, scanning and/or copying. The apparatus may include a manual sheet feeding tray disposed at the rear of the apparatus. The height of the sheet feeding tray might not exceed a height of the apparatus, allowing use of the apparatus in spaces having smaller depths. The apparatus may include a sheet guide configured to move in conjunction with the movement of the tray. In some arrangements, a surface of the sheet feeding tray may differ in height between lateral edges of the tray and a central portion. This difference may cause a sheet to be curved in a lateral direction, rendering the sheet more inflexible in a longitudinal direction. According to other aspects, a depressed portion of the tray may match a protrusion extending from the guide in shape such that the two portions may mate in a retracted position.
Abstract:
When the two same CIS are used for a first image sensor and a second image sensor and they are arranged to face opposite sides of an original document with longer sides (i.e., a main scanning direction) thereof being aligned, if an arrangement order of the array of the imaging elements and the light guiding unit in a document conveying direction is the same, the connectors are located at opposite side ends in a front-rear direction. Thus, an electric cable connected to the connector of the second image sensor is arranged above the second image sensor and extends in a longitudinal direction. Additionally, a horizontal portion of the electric cable is supported on an upper surface of a casing accommodating the second image sensor.
Abstract:
An image reader is provided, which includes a housing, a document table, a reading unit disposed between the housing and the document table and configured to read an image of a document sheet on the document table, and a carriage configured to hold the reading unit and move along a moving direction, the carriage including a protruding portion formed to protrude toward the reading unit, on a bottom surface of the carriage that faces a lower surface of the reading unit.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a cover configured to be movable between a first position, in which the top of the main body is covered, and a second position, in which the top of the main body is exposed; a supporting member configured to vertically move with respect to the main body so that the rotation center of the cover is moved between an ascent position and a descent position; a cam configured to rotate together with the cover such that a cam surface abuts on the main body, thereby vertically moving the supporting member, wherein the cam has a shape to displace the rotation center to the descent position when then the cover rotates to the first position and to displace the rotation center to the ascent position when the cover rotates to the second position so that interference of the cover is suppressed.
Abstract:
An image reading device includes a conveyor unit that conveys a document along a conveying path for ADF-type image scanning including a curved path. The conveyor unit includes a conveyor roller that reverses a conveying direction of the document in the curved path. The device further includes a first contact surface that comes into contact with a first side of the document when the document is conveyed, a second contact surface that comes into contact with a second side of the document when the document is conveyed, a first reading unit that reads an image on the first side of the document, and a second reading unit disposed above the second contact surface and reading an image on the second side of the document. A part of the conveyor roller is disposed lower than the first and second contact surfaces in an up down direction of the image reading device.
Abstract:
An image reading device includes a holding surface that holds a first document, a conveyor unit that conveys a second document along a conveying path, a first contact surface that contacts a first side of the second document when the conveyor unit conveys the second document, a second contact surface that contacts a second side of the second document when the conveyor unit conveys the second document, and reading units. A first reading unit reads an image on a side of the first document held by the holding surface, and reads an image on the first side of the second document being conveyed by the conveyor unit. A second reading unit is disposed above the second contact surface and reads an image on the second side of the second document. The second reading unit is disposed not to overlap the first reading unit in an up down direction.
