    Abstract: A computing device having a touch-sensitive surface and a display, detects a stylus input on the touch-sensitive surface while displaying a user interface. A first operation is performed in the user interface in accordance with a determination that the stylus input includes movement of the stylus across the touch-sensitive surface while the stylus is detected on the touch-sensitive surface. A second operation different from the first operation is performed in the user interface in accordance with a determination that the stylus input includes rotation of the stylus around an axis of the stylus while the stylus is detected on the touch-sensitive surface. A third operation is performed in the user interface in accordance with a determination that the stylus input includes movement of the stylus across the touch-sensitive surface and rotation of the stylus around an axis of the stylus while the stylus is detected on the touch-sensitive surface.

    Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a computing device is described. In response to receiving an input corresponding to a first gesture, the device determines an updated location for an object selection indicator within a user interface in accordance with the first gesture. In accordance with a determination that the updated location is within a portion of the user interface that corresponds to a predefined region of the display, the device sends instructions to the display for moving the object selection indicator to the updated location without scrolling the user interface. In accordance with a determination that the updated location is outside of the portion of the user interface, the device sends instructions to the display for moving the object selection indicator to the updated location and scrolling the user interface so as to display the updated location within the predefined region.

    Abstract: An electronic device having a touch-sensitive surface displays a plurality of user interface objects, detects selection of a first user interface object, detects a gesture that includes movement of a contact across the touch-sensitive surface, and in response, moves the first user interface object on the display within a predefined distance of a second user interface object. If the gesture meets predefined intensity criteria, the device performs a first device-generated alignment operation, including moving the second user interface object into alignment with the first user interface object, and if the gesture does not meet the predefined intensity criteria, the device performs a second device-generated alignment operation, includes moving the first user interface object into alignment with the second user interface object by adjusting a position of the first user interface object with respect to a current position of the second user interface object on the display.

    Abstract: An electronic device with a touch-sensitive surface, a display, one or more first sensors to detect proximity of an input object above the touch-sensitive surface and one or more second sensors to detect intensity of contact displays a user interface object at a first location. While displaying the user interface object, the device detects a first portion of an input at the first location of the user interface object while the input object meets hover criteria. In response, the device dynamically changes an appearance of the user interface object in accordance with a current hover proximity parameter of the input object. Afterwards, the device detects a second portion of the input at an initial contact location that corresponds to the first location; and, in response, dynamically changes the appearance of the user interface object in accordance with a current intensity of a contact by the input object.
