Abstract: In some embodiments, an electronic device optionally identifies a person's face, and optionally performs an action in accordance with the identification. In some embodiments, an electronic device optionally determines a gaze location in a user interface, and optionally performs an action in accordance with the determination. In some embodiments, an electronic device optionally designates a user as being present at a sound-playback device in accordance with a determination that sound-detection criteria and verification criteria have been satisfied. In some embodiments, an electronic device optionally determines whether a person is further or closer than a threshold distance from a display device, and optionally provides a first or second user interface for display on the display device in accordance with the determination. In some embodiments, an electronic device optionally modifies the playing of media content in accordance with a determination that one or more presence criteria are not satisfied.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a device displays functionality information in response to receiving an indication of a first input for which a contact meets functionality display criteria. In some embodiments, a device generates a user interface that includes a navigation bar including images from different positions in a respective content item, and a representation of an adjacent content item. In some embodiments, a device moves a selection-indicator in a user interface by a predefined amount in response to receiving an indication of a first input that meets unitary movement criteria. In some embodiments, a device interprets movement of a contact of an input based at least in part on a grip of a user. In some embodiments, a device displays a plurality of character selection options when a text entry field is not tolerant of character ambiguity and a first input corresponds to a plurality of candidate characters.

Abstract: A computing device having a touch-sensitive surface and a display, detects a stylus input on the touch-sensitive surface while displaying a user interface. A first operation is performed in the user interface in accordance with a determination that the stylus input includes movement of the stylus across the touch-sensitive surface while the stylus is detected on the touch-sensitive surface. Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a computing device is described. In response to receiving an input corresponding to a first gesture, the device determines an updated location for an object selection indicator within a user interface in accordance with the first gesture. In accordance with a determination that the updated location is within a portion of the user interface that corresponds to a predefined region of the display, the device sends instructions to the display for moving the object selection indicator to the updated location without scrolling the user interface. In accordance with a determination that the updated location is outside of the portion of the user interface, the device sends instructions to the display for moving the object selection indicator to the updated location and scrolling the user interface so as to display the updated location within the predefined region.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a multifunction device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface creates a plurality of workspace views. A respective workspace view is configured to contain content assigned by a user to the respective workspace view. The content includes application windows. The device displays a first workspace view in the plurality of workspace views on the display without displaying other workspace views in the plurality of workspace views and detects a first multifinger gesture on the touch-sensitive surface. In response to detecting the first multifinger gesture on the touch-sensitive surface, the device replaces display of the first workspace view with concurrent display of the plurality of workspace views.

Abstract: An electronic device, with a touch-sensitive surface and a display, includes one or more sensors to detect intensity of contacts with the touch-sensitive surface. The device detects a contact on the touch-sensitive surface while a focus selector corresponding to the contact is at a respective location on the display associated with additional information not initially displayed on the display. While the focus selector is at the respective location, upon determining that the contact has an intensity above a respective intensity threshold before a predefined delay time has elapsed with the focus selector at the respective location, the device displays the additional information associated with the respective location without waiting until the predefined delay time has elapsed; and upon determining that the contact has an intensity below the respective intensity threshold, the device waits until the predefined delay time has elapsed to display the additional information associated with the respective location.

Abstract: An electronic device having a touch-sensitive surface displays a plurality of user interface objects, detects selection of a first user interface object, detects a gesture that includes movement of a contact across the touch-sensitive surface, and in response, moves the first user interface object on the display within a predefined distance of a second user interface object. If the gesture meets predefined intensity criteria, the device performs a first device-generated alignment operation, including moving the second user interface object into alignment with the first user interface object, and if the gesture does not meet the predefined intensity criteria, the device performs a second device-generated alignment operation, includes moving the first user interface object into alignment with the second user interface object by adjusting a position of the first user interface object with respect to a current position of the second user interface object on the display.

Abstract: An electronic device with a touch-sensitive surface, a display, one or more first sensors to detect proximity of an input object above the touch-sensitive surface and one or more second sensors to detect intensity of contact displays a user interface object at a first location. While displaying the user interface object, the device detects a first portion of an input at the first location of the user interface object while the input object meets hover criteria. Afterwards, the device detects a second portion of the input at an initial contact location that corresponds to the first location; and, in response, dynamically changes the appearance of the user interface object in accordance with a current intensity of a contact by the input object.

Abstract: An electronic device with a touch-sensitive display displays an electronic calendar and detects a hand-drawn input on the touch-sensitive display. The hand-drawn input extends over a vertical portion, less than all, of an area corresponding to a first day in the calendar. In response to detecting the hand-drawn input, the device displays, over the vertical portion of the first day, one or more graphics that correspond to the hand-drawn input. While displaying the graphics, the device detects an input that corresponds to a request to create an event in the electronic calendar. In response, the device creates, in the first day in the electronic calendar, an event with a start time and an end time, wherein the start time and the end time of the event are in accordance with the first day that the hand drawn input extends over.
