Abstract: A backlight unit, a method for manufacturing the same and a display device are provided. The backlight unit includes a light guide plate, an LED layer and an optical microstructure layer. The light guide plate includes a light incident surface and a light exit surface opposite to the light incident surface. The LED layer is provided on the light incident surface of the light guide plate, and includes plural LED chips arranged in an array. The optical microstructure layer is provided on one of the light incident surface and the light exit surface of the light guide plate, and includes plural optical microstructures in one-to-one correspondence with the plural LED chips. Each of the plural optical microstructures is configured to cause at least a portion of light emitted from a corresponding LED chip to propagate in the light guide plate by total internal reflection.

Abstract: A liquid crystal cell and a photographic system are described. The liquid crystal cell includes: a refractive index switching layer including a liquid crystal layer consisting of liquid crystals and a substrate on which a plurality of diffractive lenses are formed; a first transparent electrode layer; and a second transparent electrode layer. The liquid crystal layer has a first refractive index and a second refractive index when the first transparent electrode layer and the second transparent electrode layer are powered on and off, respectively. The first refractive index is greater than the second refractive index, and the first refractive index is the same as the refractive index of the diffractive lenses. By means of this solution, free and controllable switching between light field imaging and conventional photographic imaging can be realized in the same system.

Abstract: A virtual curved surface display panel and a display device are provided. By using the light splitting principle of the grating structure, the imaging heights of the grating structures are designed to be symmetrically distributed with respect to a vertical symmetry axis of a display surface of the flat display panel. In the grating structures on the same side of the symmetry axis, the imaging heights of the respective grating structures having the same distance from the vertical symmetry axis are the same, and the imaging heights of the respective grating structures having different distances from the vertical symmetry axis are different from each other. By setting the imaging heights of the grating structures, the image distances of the pixels in the flat display panel are different so that the images of the plurality of pixels constitute a curved surface.

By using the imaging principle of the concave lens, the concave lens array is provided on the display surface of the flat display panel, and the focal lengths of the concave lenses are designed to be symmetrically distributed with respect to a vertical symmetry axis of the display surface. In the concave lenses on the same side of the symmetry axis, the focal lengths of the respective concave lenses having the same distance from the vertical symmetry axis are the same, and the focal lengths of the respective concave lenses having different distances from the vertical symmetry axis are different from each other. By setting the focal lengths of the concave lenses, the image distances of the pixels in the flat display panel are different so that the images of the plurality of pixels constitute a curved surface.
