A process for actuating a transmission mechanism having hydraulic shifting elements for changing gear ratios by using electric actuators to adjust the actuating pressures of the shifting elements. Upon a request from an engine start/stop function for shutdown of an engine, the flow of electrical current to the actuators is changed from an operating level to a standby level depending upon the operating pressure of the shifting elements. Upon the request for startup of the engine, the flow or electrical current is changed from the standby level to the operating level. A system pressure in the hydraulic system is zero when the engine is shutdown, and the power consumption in the transmission mechanism is lower at the standby level than the operating level.

A method is described for the operation of a transmission device (3) with several shift elements (5, 6) actuated hydraulically by a pressure source (4) for engaging and disengaging various transmission ratios and with several electric actors (7, 8) of a hydraulic system of the transmission device (3) for the adjustment of actuating pressures for the shift elements (5, 6). When an engine start-stop function calls for a combustion engine (2) of a drivetrain comprising the transmission device (3) to be switched off, the energizing current of the actors (7, 8) is adjusted from an operating level (I_B) in which the respective actors (7, 8) are energized with a current appropriate for producing an operating-situation-dependent actuation pressure in the shift elements (5, 6), to a standby level (I_S). When the engine start-stop function calls for the combustion engine (3) to be switched on, the energizing current of the actors (7, 8) is adjusted from the standby level (I_S) to the operating level (I_B). The energizing currents of the actors (7, 8) are changed from the standby level (I_S) to the operating level (I_B) in a defined time sequence.

A system and method for correcting a control of relevant parameters of operation of an automatic transmission having shift elements of a hydraulically-shifted automotive automatic transmission. The influences of an alteration of the internal adaptation parameters on stored external adaptation parameters are taken into account, thus creating a quick-acting and robust adaptation system. The control algorithm is sensitive to a level of the stored external adaptation parameters, to compensate for internal parameter interactivity without requiring comprehensive evaluation of the interaction under all circumstances.

Described is a process for the adaption of the shifting operation of an automatic transmission. Accordingly, a determination of adaption values is made relative to occurrences shifting quality in the operation of an automatic transmission, and said determined values are stored in the memory of an adaption storage and can be accessed for the control of shifting operations. The determined adaption values prior to the storage in the adaption memory are corrected in respect to a lifetime loading of the automatic transmission.
