    摘要: In an atmospheric pipestill stripping process where steam is utilized as the stripping gas to strip bottoms and side stream products, the improvement comprising utilizing ammonia or a ammonia and steam mixture as said stripping gas wherein when an ammonia and steam mixture is utilized the ratio of ammonia to steam is about 0.1:1 to about 100:1. In a refinery atmospheric pipestill stripping process utilizing a stripping gas, said process comprising utilizing a gas selected from the group consisting of ammonia and a mixture of ammonia and steam as said stripping gas wherein when an ammonia and steam mixture is utilized the ratio of ammonia to steam is about 0.1:1 to about 100:1.

    摘要: Acidic components are removed from gaseous mixtures by contacting the gaseous mixture with an aqueous solution comprising (1) a basic salt and (2) an activator for said basic salt comprising at least one sterically hindered amine and an aminoacid which is a cosolvent for the sterically hindered amines. The aminoacid serves to prevent phase separation of the aqueous solution at high temperatures and low fractional conversions during the contacting.

    摘要: Carbon dioxide containing acidic gases are substantially removed from a normally gaseous mixture by a process comprising contacting the normally gaseous mixture with an aqueous amine solution, wherein at least one of the amines is a sterically hindered amine. The process is operated at a thermodynamic cyclic capacity (as determined from the vapor liquid equilibrium isotherm of the vapor-liquid system) which is greater than in an aqueous amine CO.sub.2 scrubbing process wherein monoethanolamine is the only amine utilized under similar conditions of gaseous feed composition, scrubbing solution composition, temperatures and pressures. A particularly preferred sterically hindered amine is 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol.
