Abstract: The present disclosure is directed at pairing a host electronic device with a peripheral electronic device using visual recognition and deep learning techniques. In particular, the host device may receive an indication of a peripheral device via a camera or as a result of searching for the peripheral device (e.g., due startup of a related application or periodic scanning). The host device may also receive an image of the peripheral device (e.g., captured via the camera, and determine a visual distance to the peripheral device based on the image. The host device may also determine a signal strength of the peripheral device, and determine a signal distance to the peripheral device based on the signal strength. The host device may pair with the peripheral device if the visual distance and the signal distance are approximately equal.

Road hazard data may be collected for an object on a road, which may include automatically generated data from a device associated with the object causing a hazard. The road hazard data may be provided to a service, an application, a device, a client, and so on. For example, the road hazard data may be merged with a map and provided to a map services client, a navigation client, and so on. An alert may be generated based on the road hazard data to warn of the hazard caused by the object. The alert may include a visual and/or audio representation of the hazard data. The alert may be used to automatically and/or manually avoid the hazard.

The see-through display is configured to enable a user of the head mounted display to view the at least one virtual display and the physical display in a real-world scene. The at least one virtual display is presented on the see-through display as an additional object in the real-world scene, and the at least one virtual display is used in conjunction with the physical display to present the computer-generated information in an extended desktop from a visual perspective of the user.

The mechanical repellant may include, for example, an ultrasound wave, a vibration wave, and so on. Moreover, the mechanical repellant may be specific to a type of animal to repel the animal proximate to the entity. The mechanical repellant may further be harmless to the animal (or the entity) and/or inapplicable to at least one other animal in the environment.

Abstract: Technologies for managing assets of a data center include a unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communicatively coupled to a remote computing device. The UAV is configured to navigate throughout a data center and capture data center mapping information during the navigation usable to generate a three-dimensional (3D) model of the data center. The UAV is further configured to transmit the captured data center mapping information to a remote computing device. Accordingly, the UAV can receive instructions from a remote computing device that define a type of task to be performed by the UAV in the data center and perform such a task (e.g., a data center map update task, an asset inventory task, a maintenance task, a visual inspection task, etc.) based on the received task instructions. Other embodiments are described and claimed herein.
