    摘要： A design technique, method and apparatus for containing failure of the rotors of axial flow fluid machines. A rotor disk is constructed of at least three disk sections. Each disk section is shaped such that the loading on that section will be distributed in an optimum manner from the rim to the hub of the disk. To prevent crack propagation from one disk section to another, and to minimize structural weaknesses in the disk sections, the live disk sections are bolted together in a single bolt circle. In order to reduce overall disk weight while maintaining a maximum level of failure containment, the inner disc sections are made thicker than the outer disk sections. Embodiments for the fan, compressor and turbine rotor sections of a gas turbine engine are disclosed.

    摘要： A system includes a drill bit, and a tubular connected thereto. The tubular is configured to be rotated to rotate the drill bit and drill a length of a borehole and cemented in place. The tubular and the drill bit form a conduit to permit cement to be pumped through the tubular and the drill bit and into an annulus. The system also includes a collar disposed between the tubular and the drill bit. The collar includes a receptacle made from a drillable material, which has a profile that corresponds to a shape of a component deployed through the length of the tubular, and is configured to form a substantially fluid tight seal between the component and the drillable material when the component is seated in the receptacle. The collar and the component prevent backflow of the cement.

    摘要： A microwave excited ultraviolet lamp system with a data logging and retrieval circuit and method for operating the same. The data logging and retrieval circuit stores operational data in a cache memory using a FIFO data storage protocol. The contents of the cache memory are periodically copied to a larger removable memory so that the removable memory contains a relatively long historical record of the system operational parameters. The data logging and retrieval circuit includes a data port configured to load the contents of the cache memory into an external device when the device is coupled to the data port. A second data port allows the external device to supply power to the data logging and retrieval circuit so that data may be retrieved when the internal power supply is malfunctioning. Data stored in the removable memory may be protected so that it may only be accessed by authorized personnel.
