    摘要: Apparatus and methods are provided for transitioning wireless devices between a plurality of states having increasing resource intensity from a least resource intensive state to a most resource intensive second state. All power-on wireless devices are ranked. A respective subset of the power-on wireless devices is assigned to each state, the power-on wireless devices of the subsets having rankings which increase with resource intensity of the state. Signalling is generated to the wireless devices to instruct them to implement any change in state. The priorities which are calculated for the purpose of state scheduling are preferably the same as those, or at least based upon the priorities used for packet scheduling.

    摘要: Systems and methods for MIMO wireless transmission are provided. At the transmitter, a plurality of encoded packets are modulated, and the symbols are divided between several transmit antennas. The transmitter spreads some of the symbols of each packet using a respective subset of an available Walsh code space. A given transmit antenna then transmits part of each packet spread by the respective subset. In some implementations, this achieves the benefits of the PARC system, and at the same time achieves part of the benefits of the STTD system. Advantageously, only a single reverse link control channel is required if adaptive coding and modulation is to be performed.

In response to the flag indicating that autonomous mode is enabled, data is communicated, over the reverse wireless link, at a data rate less than or equal to the autonomous data rate without the base station having to first schedule the mobile station.
