    摘要: In a method and a device for requesting Channel Quality Indication (CQI) reports from a mobile station of a cellular radio system, the CQI reports are requested in response to a measured Block Error Rate (BLER) of transmissions from the mobile station. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention a CQI report is requested if the BLER of the mobile station is above a predetermined threshold value C. The threshold value C can be set to a value related to the BLER target. In particular the value C can be set to the same value or as a value close the BLER that is targeted to try to adapt the CQI report request to how well the base station knows the channel. It can also be set higher or lower to also consider how much CQI reporting the base station estimates can be afforded when it comes to uplink resources and uplink grant signaling in the downlink.

The throughput is based on the received channel state information. The base station (110) further estimates (203) the consumption of throughput that is expected for transmitting scheduling information to each of the respective one or more user equipments (120). The criterion is based on the estimated throughput and the estimated consumption of throughput that is expected for transmitting the scheduling information to the respective one or more user equipments (120).

In the UE it is initially determined (502) whether at least one channel state feedback reporting trigger criteria is valid or not, comprising the step of determining whether one or more channel state feedback reporting trigger is applied to one or more specific radio bearers. If this is the case, a channel state feedback report of a specified type is generated (510) and transmitted (511) to the base station. Such a mechanism provides for a more efficient control signaling of channel state feedback information between a base station and a UE.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method for improved and efficient usage of radio network resources with regard to the transmission properties of applied communication channel types and total network load by means of using early indications on the uplink or downlink of requests to establish new communication connection or adjust parameter settings of already existing connections regading the expectable amount of additional traffic due to such a connection. Early indications are, e.g., information on protocol type, the kind of requested communication service, the profile of the user equipment that has sent the request, or traffic history. In response to such indications the inventive method can forward, e.g., an uplink request and at the same time initiate a channel type switching providing appropriate channel parameter settings or adjustments. In case of congestion control it is another possibility to delay or even suppress uplink requests.

    摘要: An uplink signal-to-interference ratio for each of multiple mobile radio terminal connections supported in a cell in a cellular communications system is estimated. A signal-to-interference ratio error is determined for selected ones of the estimated uplink signal-to-interference ratios. One or more signal-to-interference ratio errors are identified that exceed a signal-to-interference ratio error threshold. An instability indicator associated with the cell is determined based on the one or more identified signal-to-interference ratio errors. A load control decision and/or a decision for scheduling one or more uplink mobile radio transmissions in the cell may then be made based on the instability indicator, e.g., to prevent a transmission power rush in the uplink in the cell and/or to efficiently use available resources for uplink transmissions.
