摘要： A system for monitoring and optimizing performance on a packet network with vector performance tables including a network element including an input/output (I/O) unit configured to communicate data packets with at least one other network element on the packet network the data packets including network performance information; a processing unit configured to receive the data packets from the at least one other network element; and a memory in communication with the processing unit and configured to store a vector performance table including a compilation of the network performance information contained in the data packets, the processor configured to process the data packets to store the network performance information in the vector performance table. A method for monitoring and optimizing performance on a packet network with vector performance tables is also included.

摘要： Embodiments of the invention include a device and method for extending alerts for a wireless device. In one embodiment, a method for extending alerts for a wireless device includes linking the wireless device through a wireless connection with a wireless ringer module; wherein the wireless ringer module is removably coupled to a device having an interface for receiving and coupling with the wireless ringer module. The method further includes transmitting a signal to the wireless ringer that triggers an alert feature of the wireless ringer for notifying a user of an incoming communication in response to the wireless device receiving an indication of an incoming communication.

A database comprising records correlating location information with mobile communications device laws may be accessed. Based upon the determined geographical location and accessed database record, a determination may be made as to whether the use of a mobile communications device within the vehicle should be restricted. The capabilities of the mobile communications device that are currently available may be configured, in response to the restriction determination.

A determination is made whether available bandwidth supports a line resolution. The line resolution is adjusted in response to determining the available bandwidth does not support the line resolution. The video conference is implemented utilizing the adjusted line resolution.

摘要： Embodiments of the disclosed inventions include a method for playing ringtones on a communication device. The method includes associating a plurality of ringtones with an identifier of a calling device. The method also includes receiving a user preference indicating a desired method for selecting a ringtone from the plurality of ringtones. In response to the communication device receiving a communication from the calling device associated with the identifier, the method selects the ringtone from the plurality of ringtones based on the user preference indicating the desired method for selecting the ringtone from the plurality of ringtones and initiates the playing of a selected ringtone on the communication device.

摘要： A system and method for extending alerts for a wireless device. A media player equipped with a wireless ringer is linked with a media player through a wireless connection. Playback of media content on the media player is interrupted to play an alert in response to the wireless ringer receiving an indication of an incoming communication from the wireless device. The alert is played on the media player in response to interrupting playback of the media content in order to inform a user of the incoming communication.

The transmitter on the mobile communications device may be disabled in response to the mobile communications device being located proximate to an operator's seat of a vehicle and further in response to the determined condition parameter. The transmitter on the mobile communications device may be enabled, in response to determining that the mobile communications device is not located in a restricted location.
