Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to configuring control resource sets (CORESETs) and search spaces in fifth generation new radio (5G NR). In an example, the aspects may include determining, by a network entity, one or more configurations of one or more physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates, wherein the one or more configurations include: modifying of at least one of one or more parameters for one or more search spaces, one or more parameters for one or more CORESETs, the one or more search spaces, and the one or more CORESETs; or skipping monitoring of at least one of the one or more parameters for the one or more search spaces, the one or more parameters for the one or more CORESETs, the one or more search spaces, and the one or more CORESETs; and transmitting, by the network entity to one or more user equipments (UEs), the one or more configurations.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect a synchronization signal block (SSB) within a discovery reference signal (DRS) transmission window that includes more than 64 candidate SSB positions, determine an index value of the SSB based at least in part on an indexing scheme for SSBs that are included in the DRS transmission window, wherein the indexing scheme includes one of a consecutive indexing scheme or a non-consecutive indexing scheme; and determine a cell timing based at least in part on the index value. Abstract: Aspects are provided that allow a base station to provide a user equipment (UE) multiple timing opportunities to transmit an acknowledgment to a pre-grant (APG) after receiving a pre-grant for a downlink transmission. The base station transmits to the UE a pre-grant for a downlink transmission from the base station, the pre-grant triggering a plurality of timing opportunities for the UE to send an APG to the base station. The UE performs, after receiving the pre-grant, a clear channel assessment (CCA) during at least one timing opportunity of the plurality of timing opportunities. The UE transmits one or more APGs to the base station when the CCA is successful, and the UE receives the downlink transmission from the base station in response to the one or more APGs. The UE transmits the one or more APGs to the base station until the downlink transmission is received from the base station.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which improve LBT by associating contention windows with transmission burst lengths and by allowing contention windows and maximum burst lengths to be adjusted based on interference activity. For downlink, a UE receives a PG for a downlink transmission from a base station indicating a CCA length based on a contention window size associated at least with a burst length for the downlink transmission. The UE performs, after receiving the pre-grant, a CCA based on the CCA length, transmits an APG to the base station when the CCA is successful, and receives the downlink transmission in response to the APG. For uplink, the base station performs a CCA based on a contention window associated at least with a burst length for an uplink transmission, transmits an uplink grant to the UE when the CCA is successful, and receives the uplink transmission in response to the uplink grant.
