Abstract:
A hand massager has a base comprising a plurality of movable massage knobs and a swivel connection, wherein the base is shaped to receive a user's hand. The hand massager also has a top connected to the swivel connection. The top is sized to fit over a user's hand to define a cavity between the top and the base. Electronic user controls controlling the motion of movable massage knobs. The top may further include a vibrating element for massaging the top of a user's hand. The top can also have a heat element. The base has a heat element. The massage knobs, vibrating elements and heat elements interact with each other to make a hand massager that is desktop friendly and can be used in a home environment.
Abstract:
A method for imaging an array of microspheres. The method employs a wavelength tunable light source and camera for detecting and quantifying the presence of biological probes that indicate the presence of specific chemical moieties within a biological system.
Abstract:
A specular light source and camera for detecting and quantifying the presence of biological probes, which contain a colorant with spectral properties that depend upon the angle of illumination and angle of imaging, that indicate the presence of specific chemical moieties within a biological system.
Abstract:
A trampoline having a frame, a bounce member and a bounce sensor, sensing bounces activates lights and provide sounds for entertainment and training purposes. A control box interprets a variety of inputs from the bounce sensors and outputs a variety of lights and sounds. A light is activated underneath the bounce member when the bounce sensor senses a bounce. One are more sets of lights can be used. The best mode is a spring post configuration sensor. The lights can be encapsulated within a plastic lamination having an upper clear surface and a lower reflective surface.
Abstract:
The present invention allows use of three table surfaces. A billiard table, a table tennis table and an air hockey table can be combined into a single piece of furniture. Other table faces such as a dining table, a croquet table, or a poker table can be similarly integrated. The basic furniture geometry includes three rectangular playing surfaces joined at their periphery to form a hollow body having a triangular equilateral cross section supported by a frame.
Abstract:
A method for providing add-on services responsive to an email transferred via a distributed computer network. The method includes receiving via the distributed computer network the email at an add-on service system. The method further includes ascertaining from the email whether a recipient of the email subscribes to at least one of the add-on services. If the recipient subscribes to the at least one of the add-on services, the method includes forming a post add-on service email, which includes performing, using the add-on service system, the at least one of the add-on services on at least a first portion of the email. Furthermore, the method includes forwarding the post add-on service email, after the performing, to the email system, thereby rendering the post add-on service email accessible to the recipient through the email system.

Abstract:
A high chloride {100} tabular grain emulsion is disclosed containing a non-uniform distribution of iodide to increase sensitivity. A high percentage of the {100} tabular grains have one or more crystal lattice dislocations lines at sites of maximum iodide concentration. The dislocation lines are distinctive in that they are oriented parallel to at least one edge of the {100} tabular grains. The mechanism for producing the dislocation lines relies upon a relatively slow rate of addition of iodide ion, improving the reproducibility of emulsion properties in manufacture. Relatively low overall levels of iodide are employed, allowing rapid rates of development.
Abstract:
A radiation-sensitive photographic emulsion is disclosed containing a gelatino-vehicle and tabular grains accounting for at least 70 percent of total grain projected area comprised of, prior to house conversion, at least 90 mole percent bromide and, after house conversion, up to 12 mole percent iodide, based on total silver, having {111} major faces that form corners joined by linear edges, and containing halide conversion dislocations that are confined to corner regions. Superior performance and selected site halide conversion can be realized by maintaining a pBr of less than 3.5 and by employing for halide conversion an iodide ion source exhibiting a second order reaction rate constant with the gelatino-vehicle of less than 10.sup.-3 mole.sup.-1 sec.sup.-1.
Abstract:
A slide has a metal frame supporting a polymer slide portion. The slide portion has an upper slide section and a lower slide section connected to the upper slide section. The upper slide section and the lower slide section form an interface. The interface includes an interface middle section, an interface right upper extension, and an interface left upper extension. The interface middle section is offset from the interface right upper extension and the interface left upper extension. A left lengthwise interface section extends between the interface middle section and the interface left upper extension. A right lengthwise interface section extends between the interface middle section and the interface right upper extension. The left lengthwise interface section and the right lengthwise interface section are parallel to each other, but perpendicular to the interface middle section.
