    摘要: An image forming medium includes a substrate, and an imaging layer coated on or impregnated into said substrate, wherein the imaging layer includes an imaging composition including a photochromic or photochromic-thermochromic material dissolved or dispersed in a solvent or polymeric binder, wherein the imaging composition is imageable by light of a first wavelength and erasable in a short time period by a combination of heat and light of a second wavelength such that simultaneous erase with heat and light of the second wavelength is faster than erase by heat alone and exhibits a reversible transition between a colorless and a colored state.

The display mediums include two different colors therein so that the subpixel is capable of exhibiting each of the two different colors, and each of the three or more subpixels include a display medium having a combination of two colors that is different from the combinations of two colors of the display mediums of the other of the three or more subpixels. A method of displaying a full color image with the display device is also provided.

    摘要: A cholesteric display including a cholesteric liquid crystal, and a dipolar dopant having limited miscibility in the cholesteric liquid crystal is provided. In accordance with another aspect, a process is provided for forming a cholesteric liquid crystal composition by dissolving a dipolar dopant having limited solubility into a cholesteric liquid crystal. The liquid crystal composition can be utilized to produce a cholesteric display. The liquid crystal domains in the liquid crystal composition rotate away from a planar state in the presence of an applied electric field and the degree of rotation is a function of the applied electric field strength. The reflected color is then a function of the applied electric field.

    摘要: Magnetic display devices include low-density silica coated magnetic and nonmagnetic particles. In a one-particle system, low-density silica coated magnetic particles coated by a sol-gel process are used in combination with non-magnetic particles. In a two-particle system, low-density silica coated magnetic particles coated by a sol-gel process are used in combination with low-density silica coated non-magnetic particles. Display devices employing silica coated magnetic particles minimize the tendency of the magnetic particles to aggregate. Silica coated magnetic particles in a display device results in a magnetic display with improved image stability. Low-density silica coated magnetic particles in a display device allow for particles to move easily through a dispersion fluid in response to a magnetic field.
