    摘要: A method of requesting resources, a method of allocating resources, and an apparatus therefor by using bandwidth request ranging in a mobile communication system are provided. The method of allocating uplink resources to a subscriber station by using bandwidth request ranging in a mobile communication system includes: transmitting an uplink channel descriptor (UCD) including code group information to the subscriber station, wherein the code group information is obtained by dividing a bandwidth request code into a plurality of groups and mapping the groups to predetermined data block sizes; receiving a bandwidth request code selected in the subscriber station; determining a code group including the selected bandwidth request code; and allocating a bandwidth through which a data block size corresponding to the determined code group can be transmitted, to the subscriber station. Accordingly, bandwidth request codes are divided into code groups of which bandwidth request codes represent specific block sizes, and the base station that receives the bandwidth request code allocates uplink resources corresponding to the bandwidth request code, so that it is possible to decrease a transmission delay of the uplink traffic.

When the authentication server finishes authentication, the interworking device sets a second wireless data path with the terminal.     摘要: An IPv6 address configuration method for a terminal in a wireless mobile network and an apparatus therefor are provided. In the wireless mobile network, an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) address configuration apparatus is provided to a router (access control router; ACR) or a base station (radio access station; RAS). In the address configuration apparatus, a MAC access procedure is performed to extract information required for IPv6 address allocation procedure, and the address is configured by using available fields of a message. In addition, a duplicate address detector (DAD) in which the terminal directly takes part is omitted by using information on the router (ACR) or the base station (RAS). In addition, during the IPv6 address configuration procedure, in order to prevent messages of IPv6 from being transmitted in a wireless region, an agent for address configuration is provided to the terminal. The router (ACR) acquires information required for the address configuration by using a portion of fields of MAC management messages. Accordingly, in the wireless mobile network, it is possible to reduce a time taken for an initial access procedure in which an IPv6 address is allocated to the terminal and to reduce consumption of wireless resource.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a packet access router and a ranging method using the same in a mobile communication system. In the mobile communication system to which the packet access router is introduced, a better initial access process and a periodic ranging process are performed so as to accurately transmit data to the access point irrespective of the condition of whether an access terminal is provided in the packet access router region or not. When a ranging code is received, it is accurately determined whether the ranging code is directly received from the access terminal or it is received through the packet access router, and a method for performing a ranging control on the access terminal and a packet access router when the ranging code is transmitted to the access point through the packet access router. Therefore, the coverage of the access point is increased and the data throughput is improved. Also, system performance can be enhanced through efficient power control on the access terminal provided out of the access point region.
