    Abstract: A system for pandemic and connection tracking is provided. The system includes a memory and one or more processors in communication with the memory, and a data collector executing on the one or more processors. The data collector is configured to collect anonymous tracking data from a wireless sensor network. The wireless sensor network is configured to communicate with users' devices using a wireless connection. The system further includes a data validator/augmentor executing on the one or more processors. The data validator/augmentor is configured to validate the collected anonymous tracking data. The system also includes a virus spread tracker executing on the one or more processors. The virus spread tracker is configured to: estimate an exposure time between each pair of users based on the collected anonymous tracking data; and determine a probability of at least one of the users being infected based on the estimated exposure time.

    Abstract: The main objective of Certificate Transparency (CT) is to detect mis-issued certificates or rouge certificate authorities. It has been observed that phishing sites have been increasingly acquiring certificates to look more legitimate and reach more victims, thus providing an opportunity to predict phishing domains early. The present disclosure provides systems and methods for early detection of phishing and benign domain traces in CT logs. The provided system may predict phishing domains early even before content is available via time-, issuer-, and certificate-based characteristics that are used to identify sets of CT-based inexpensive and novel features. The CT-features are augmented with other features including passive DNS (pDNS) and domain-based lexical features.

    Abstract: A shape-memory alloy actuated switch (SMAAS) is provided that enables the stable switching of two separate circuits. The presently disclosed SMAAS includes a substrate, one or more electrical contacts attached to the substrate for connecting to load circuits, and one or more electrically conductive elements for selectively connecting the one or more electrical contacts. The disclosed SMAAS also includes one or more shape-memory alloy actuators attached to the substrate. The one or more shape-memory alloy actuators are configured to move the one or more electrically conductive elements. The shape-memory alloy actuators are self-heated by passing current through the shape-memory alloy material. The disclosed SMAAS may also include electrical contacts to connect an external control current to the shape-memory alloy material. In some examples, the provided SMAAS includes one or more retention mechanisms to prevent movement of the electrically conductive elements after actuation.

    Abstract: A smart diaper system and methods for making the same. The system includes a diaper, an embedded sensor array, fixed to the diaper, including at least one sensor configured to detect a stimuli and a wireless transmission module operably connected to the embedded sensor array, configured to transmit a signal to a peripheral device. Additionally, in response to detecting a stimuli, the embedded sensor array communicates with the wireless transmission module to transmit a signal to the peripheral device corresponding to the detected stimuli. The method for manufacturing a smart diaper system includes providing a diaper, providing an embedded sensor array, including at least one sensor configured to detect a stimuli. Additionally, the embedded sensor array consists of screen printed sensors printed directly on a thermal transfer substrate and the thermal transfer substrate featuring the embedded sensor array becomes a fixed integral part of the diaper.
