Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed relate to a method of oxidizing sulfur-containing compounds. The method involves contacting a sulfur-containing compound with a helmet phthalocyaninato-type catalyst in the presence of an oxidant. The present invention also provides a method of removing undesired sulfur-containing compounds from a fluid, such as natural gas, crude oil or an aqueous waste stream.

Abstract: A flameless combustion oven arranges gas and air jets to directly impinge on product, being heated to substantially promote transfer of heat to the product by impingement transfer rather than by conventional radiation and thermally induced convection. In one embodiment, a set of spaced air and gas nozzles are uniformly distributed on a wall of the oven opposite the product to provide substantially uniform impingement over a surface of the product.

Abstract: A system for fabricating microparticles useful for example in managing invasive species is provided. The system provides a nozzle for atomizing liquefied droplet material which is then suspended in a cyclonic separator receiving refrigerated gas until the droplets can solidify. In this way small droplets (less than 100 μm) can be readily fabricated in bulk without clumping and aggregating.

Abstract: A heteroatom (N,S,O)-rich porous organic polymer and a membrane-based separation system and process employing the polymer is provided that utilizes one of a number of the heteroatom-rich porous organic polymers which contain ultra-small pores in their structures. The polymers can be used in the membranes to form a simpler, easy to regenerate separation system and method that and does not involve phase changes in the operation of the system. The system with the functionalized nanoporous organic polymer(s) can be utilized as a nanoporous membrane composite(s) for CO2 gas separation, or in the formation of a heterogeneous catalyst to convert CO2 to useful chemicals.
