Abstract: A cartridge holder is shown which comprises a back portion which has at an inner surface a plurality of cartridge gripping parts by which one sides of cartridges are gripped, a pair of lid portions which are pivotally connected to opposed sides of the back portion through respective major hinge portions; catching and caught portions which are provided at free ends of the lid portions and lock the lid portions when the lid portions are pivoted toward their closed position; and a plurality of extra hinge portions which are defined by the back portion. By roundly flexing the back portion at the major hinge portions, the cartridge gripping parts, that is, the cartridges gripped by these cartridge gripping parts are opened like a fan. Thus, upper ends of the cartridges are separated thereby facilitating handling of the upper ends of the cartridges by the fingers of a user. In order to prevent a swell-out phenomenon of the back portion which would occur when the back portion is roundly flexed, there is provided a swell-out phenomenon suppressing means. In order to prevent removal of the cartridges from the cartridge gripping parts which would occur when vibration and shock are applied thereto under conveying of the holder, there is provided a cartridge retaining rib.

Abstract: A stackable media storage holder, for removably holding a removable media storage devices or cases therefor, is disclosed. A media storage device or case therefor is held in the holder, laterally between at least two opposing lateral restraining members, from behind with at least one rear restraining member, and from below with a lower restraining member. The media storage holder incorporates compatible connectors and receptors which interconnect--and in some instances further lock--to permit stacking of the media storage holder with like holders. Abstract: An improved compact disk storage assembly that is adapted to serve as a compact disk holder or for installation in a receiving space reserved for a disk drive in a computer mainframe, and that provides enhanced disk storage capacity, including a housing having slide tracks on opposite inner sides thereof, and a plurality of spaced-apart disk storage cases disposed inside the housing and having slide blocks on both sides for engaging the slide tracks. Each disk storage case includes a support rack having retaining grooves at a front end thereof, and a disk receiving plate disposed on the support rack. The disk receiving plate has upper and lower receiving recesses for placement of compact disks. The receiving recess is centrally provided with a retaining flange for positioning a compact disk. The disk receiving plate is provided with projections on both sides thereof. When the disk receiving plate is being pulled out from the support rack, the projections will engage the retaining grooves so that the disk receiving plate will not slip out and can be turned over to facilitate placement or removal of a compact disk on or from the reverse side.

Abstract: A storage device stores computer data cartridges in individual boxes. The storage device can store multiple boxes of computer cartridges. Preferably six boxes are stored in one case. The case has two side walls, a back, an upper wall, and a lower wall. A case with multiple inner dividers forms inner chambers for holding and separating one box from another. An ejector is associated with each of the chambers. Each ejector has an elongated and tilted floor member extending from the front of the ejector to the back of the case. The upward tilted position of the floor member holds the boxes against the upper wall and back of the case and therefore does not allow unintentional ejection of the boxes. Pushing the ejector downward forces the tilted floor member downward, sliding and ejecting the box outward under its own weight. A comb-like clamp and ejector assembly has rear grippers that grip a downward edge of the back. Fulcrums upwardly tilt forward cantilevered fingers which form the floors of the chambers. Forward ends of the floors are pressed downward to admit cartridges then spring upward to hold the cartridges. Pressing downward on a forward end slopes a floor downward to slide out a cartridge. Elongated sloped legs dovetail into sloped recesses in the top for locking stacked cases together. Elastomeric non-skid feet attach to ends of the legs on laterally adjacent cases to lock a bottom row of cases together.
