摘要： A display case assembly provided for simultaneously displaying a phonograph record cover and a phonograph record. The display case assembly comprises a base member having a planar bottom panel and a wall member extending upwardly from the bottom panel at an edge thereof, a mounting post projecting from the bottom panel for mounting the phonograph record thereon, a generally planar and transparent cover panel mounted on the wall member of the base member, and an edge trim member clamping together the cover panel and the base member at the edge of the bottom panel along a perimeter of the bottom panel. The shallow tray is dimensioned to receive the phonograph record cover to display therein between the wall member and the mounting post. The cover panel is made of a transparent material and dimensioned to overlay and cover an open top of the base member.

摘要： Methods of making and using a cost-saving mailer, as well as the inventive mailer are described. To qualify for the lowest-cost, automated mailing of discs (including CD, DVD and similarly sized objects), the mailing system has a mailer of cardboard sized to enclose a standard disc around which the cardboard is folded; and glue is placed in ribbons along the side edges of the cardboard to seal the side edges of the mailer and in two spots to stabilize the disc centrally in the mailer, the two spots being located away from the mailer opening and on either side of the enclosed disc, thereby preventing the disc from moving up and down or side to side after the disc is sealed within the mailer.

摘要： An improved hard disk container of the type having a container body with U-shaped disk receiving grooves therein and covers over upper and end openings in opposite ends and over a lower opening. Continuous upper and end protrusions are integrally mounted adjacent the upper opening and on the ends adjacent the end openings, and a continuous lower protrusion is integrally mounted around the lower opening. The lower face of the upper cover has continuous upper and end grooves therein in which the continuous upper and end protrusions are engaged. A continuous sealing upper projection is integrally provided on the wall of the continuous upper and end grooves and the upper and end protrusions have a continuous sealing recess therein in which the continuous upper projection is resiliently sealingly engaged. The lower cover has a continuous lower groove around the upper surface in which the continuous lower protrusion is engaged, and a continuous sealing lower projection is integrally provided on the wall of the lower groove, the continuous lower protrusion having a continuous sealing recess therein in which the continuous lower sealing projection is resiliently sealingly engaged. Pairs of brackets are detachably mounted on the upper cover and project into the disk receiving grooves for resiliently engaging hard disks in the container body so as to position the hard disks in the disk receiving grooves. Humidity absorbing material is provided in the container body for absorbing humidity.

摘要： In the formation of an envelope or jacket for a disc, comprising laminating a nonwoven fabric to a plastic sheet, superposing two such laminates with the nonwoven fabrics facing each other, and joining such superposed laminates along all edges but one, thereby to form an envelope, the improvement which comprises effecting the laminating by providing a fusible layer between the nonwoven fabric and plastic sheet and heating to soften the fusible layer while pressing to join the nonwoven fabric to the plastic. The low melting fusible layer eliminates the tendency, in its absence, to pull particles of the jacket plastic through the nonwoven liner layer where it could damage the object to be encased in the envelope. Advantageously the fusible layer is a spray spun low melting polyester which, in addition to polyvinylchloride, is bondable to polycarbonate.

摘要： A disk jacket is disclosed, the jacket having an outer envelope and an inner liner and being closed around three edges and opening outwardly along a top edge. A pair of outwardly curved elastic plates are secured between the outer envelope and the inner liner along opposite sides of the opening to cause the top edges of the opposed side walls of the jacket to be concave, whereby the mouth of the jacket is normally open. An interlocking latching mechanism is placed in the middle of the jacket opening to permit the jacket to be closed, and a covering, or lid, material is secured to the inner surface of the jacket liner along the upper edge thereof, the covering material being substantially the same thickness of a disk so as effectively to seal the opening of the jacket when it is secured in the closed position by the interlocking latch mechanism.

摘要： An improved package for storage and/or shipment of flexible materials which is particularly applicable to packaging a plurality of flexible magnetic disks such as flexible disks. Flexible disks are uniformly aligned and sealed within a heat sealable, heat shrinkable plastic bag. A hole is placed in an edge of the bag for tight draw down, and the bag is heat shrunk. Enhanced protection is afforded by placing and forming a second heat shrunk plastic bag around the first. A foam collar is firmly positioned about the peripheral edge of the package to provide edge protection to the package during shipment. The improved package prevents physical damage to the individual flexible disks from handling, shipping impact and particulate contamination.
