Abstract:
An image processing apparatus that covers standards of a dial tone for a plurality of countries with a relatively small number of pattern tables and reduces the number of times that a sound is misdetected as a dial tone, a method for controlling the same and a program are provided. To accomplish this, the image processing apparatus measures a length of a tone signal received from outside; determines whether an intermittent dial tone including the measured tone signal and a previously received tone signal has a specific pattern or not; and determines whether a duty cycle of the intermittent dial tone is a duty cycle within a given range or not, thereby determining whether the dial tone is valid or not.
Abstract:
There is a need to provide a technique of accurately detecting an identification signal representing that the partner performs facsimile communication, by using an appropriate detection filter in accordance with the operation mode in a facsimile apparatus. Based on whether the FAX/TEL mode (first mode) or the TEL answering mode (second mode) is set as the operation mode, a facsimile apparatus according to this invention determines whether a band-pass filter and band-reject filter are to be used. The facsimile apparatus detects a CNG based on the signal detection result using the determined filter.
Abstract:
A clearing section includes a counter for measuring a period up to the reset of contents set by means of an operation panel to initial values. If a position discriminating section discriminates that the operation panel is at a first position, the clearing section starts measuring the period by means of the counter from the first entry made to the operation panel. When a count value reaches a predetermined value, the clearing section executes an automatic clear processing to reset the contents set by means of the operation panel to the initial values. On the other hand, the clearing section cancels the execution of the automatic clear processing if the position discriminating section discriminates that the operation panel is at a second position.
Abstract:
In an image processing system, when a user request is received from a client apparatus, an image processing management apparatus determines whether the user request can be processed by the image processing system to generate a determination result, and generate an instruction indicating how the image processing system should operate based on the determination result.
Abstract:
A management apparatus by which one of facsimile apparatuses that externally receives facsimile data is selected based on current power modes of the facsimile apparatuses. Facsimile data can be transmitted from any of a FAX and MFPs on an IP communication network. One of MFPs which are not in a power saving mode is selected by the management apparatus, and a URI of the selected MFP is registered in an SIP server. When facsimile data whose original transmission destination is an MFP which is in a power saving mode is transmitted, the facsimile data is transferred to and alternatively received by the selected MFP.
Abstract:
A method for touting a confirmation of receipt and/or delivery of a facsimile or portion thereof according to one embodiment includes generating text of a facsimile in a computer readable format; ascertaining one or more of a significance and a relevance of at least a portion of the text by locating one or more keywords in the text, wherein at least two of the keywords are not adjacent in the text; analyzing the text for at least one of a meaning and a context of the text; and routing at least one confirmation of receipt and/or delivery of the facsimile to one or more confirmation destinations based on the analysis. Additional disclosed embodiments include systems and computer program products configured to similarly route confirmation of receipt and/or delivery of a facsimile or a portion thereof.
Abstract:
A management apparatus according to the present invention controls whether history information is requested when it is specified that an image forming apparatus as an acquisition target of the history information is in a power saving state. When a return notification from the power saving state is issued after the image forming apparatus as the target requests previous history information, even in the power saving state of the image forming apparatus, the request is issued. The request is not issued when the image forming apparatus does not issue the return notification after the image forming apparatus as the target requests previous history information.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a first control unit configured to control an operation of an image forming unit, and a second control unit configured to be capable of communicating with the first control unit and transmitting information associated with forming an image to the first control unit. The image forming apparatus has a normal operation mode in which an image forming operation is performed, a first power-saving operation mode in which an operation of the first control unit is stopped, and a second power-saving operation mode in which supplying of electric power to the second control unit is stopped. In the first power-saving operation mode, the second control unit determines whether to switch into the normal operation mode from the first power-saving operation mode. In the second power-saving operation mode, the first control unit determines whether to switch into the normal operation mode from the second power-saving operation mode.
Abstract:
A communicating apparatus includes a first acquire unit that acquires a first usage bandwidth to be a usage bandwidth of the communicating apparatus; a negotiation unit that negotiates by utilizing information corresponding to the first usage bandwidth in relation to a transmission speed in an execution of a communication with another communicating apparatus connected to the communicating apparatus through a network; a second acquire unit that acquires a second usage bandwidth as a negotiation result obtained by the negotiation unit; and a communicating unit that transmits data to the another communicating apparatus at a lower transmission speed than a transmission speed based on the first usage bandwidth corresponding to information about the second usage bandwidth.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to an information processing apparatus operable in any of a plurality of power states including a first power state and a second power state in which power consumption is lower than power consumption in the first power state. The information processing apparatus includes a reception unit configured to receive a shift instruction to shift to the second power state, and a control unit configured to shift the information processing apparatus to the second power state in a case where the reception unit receives the shift instruction while an application that does not support the second power state is not running, and not to shift the information processing apparatus to the second power state in a case where the reception unit receives the instruction while an application that does not support the second power state is running.
