    Abstract: The inductive heating device (1) for aerosol-generation comprises a device housing (10) comprising a cavity (13) having an internal surface for receiving at least a portion of an aerosol-forming insert (2) comprising an aerosol-forming substrate and a susceptor. The device housing (10) further comprises a pin (14) extending into the cavity (13). The device (1) further comprises an induction coil (15) arranged along the pin (14) and a power source (11) connected to the induction coil (15) and configured to provide a high frequency current to the induction coil (15).

    Abstract: A cartridge for an aerosol-generating system includes a liquid storage portion configured to store a liquid aerosol-forming substrate. The liquid storage portion includes one or more flexible walls and is configured to change at least one of the shape and the size of the liquid storage portion upon a change of the volume of the liquid aerosol-forming substrate held in the liquid storage portion. The cartridge includes a sensor configured to detect data of a physical property. The data relates to at least one of a corresponding shape and a corresponding size of the liquid storage portion so that the volume of the liquid aerosol-forming substrate held in the liquid storage portion is determinable from the measured data.

    Abstract: An aerosol delivery device is provided. The aerosol delivery device includes a power source, and a heating element powerable to heat and thereby vaporize components of an aerosol precursor composition. The aerosol delivery device also includes processing circuitry configured to control voltage from the power source to the heating element to power the heating element. The aerosol delivery device further includes an infrared temperature sensor coupled to the processing circuitry, and configured to measure an infrared energy emitted by the heating element or aerosol precursor composition. The processing circuitry is configured to determine the temperature of the heating element or aerosol precursor composition from the infrared energy measured by the infrared temperature sensor, and adjust the voltage from the power source to the heating element when the temperature deviates from a predetermined set point.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for controlling dosing of an electronic smoking device. An electronic smoking device comprises a body through which a flow path at least partially extends, an air inlet in the body that is fluidly connected to the flow path, a liquid compartment for storing a liquid within the body, a vaporizer positioned in the body and configured to receive liquid from the liquid compartment and air from the flow path to generate vaporized liquid, an outlet in the body configured to receive vaporized liquid from the vaporizer, and circuitry connected to the vaporizer and configured to control dosage of vaporized liquid. A method for controlling dosage in an electronic smoking device comprises sensing an airflow, releasing a liquid into the airflow, activating a vaporizer to generate vaporized liquid, and controlling flow of airflow, liquid or vaporized liquid to control dosage.
