摘要: A dilation apparatus includes a handle assembly, a dilator, a guidewire, and a steering assembly. The dilator is connected to the handle assembly and is configured to transition between an unexpanded state and an expanded state. The guidewire is longitudinally fixed relative to the dilator. The steering assembly is configured to laterally deflect at least a portion of the guidewire relative to the handle assembly. The steering assembly includes an actuator coupled with the handle assembly and a pull wire extending between the actuator and guidewire. A portion of the pull wire is attached to the guidewire. The actuator is configured to move the pull wire relative to the handle assembly in order to laterally deflect the at least a portion of the guidewire.

摘要: A system includes a dilation catheter and a guide member. The dilation catheter includes a proximal end, a distal end, a dilator, a navigation sensor, and a force sensor. The dilator is positioned proximal to the distal end and is configured to transition between a non-dilated configuration and a dilated configuration. The navigation sensor is positioned distal to the dilator and is configured to cooperate with a guidance system and thereby provide signals indicating a position of the dilation catheter in three-dimensional space. The force sensor is positioned distal to the dilator and is configured to provide signals indicating a force encountered by the force sensor. The dilation catheter is configured to slide relative to the guide member. A distal portion of the guide member is sized and configured to fit in a nasal cavity of a patient.

摘要: This inflatable balloon includes a balloon body, an inflation opening for the introduction of a fluid into the balloon body so as to inflate it under pressure, and at least one device for measuring a biological quantity of cavity tissues and/or of biological fluids present in this cavity. The measuring device includes an external sensor attached on an external face of the wall of the balloon body and adapted to supply an electrical measurement signal sensitive to the measured biological quantity, and an internal module located inside the balloon body and including a processing device adapted to process the electrical measurement signal in order to provide at least one measurement of the biological quantity.

摘要: Apparatus, including a tube having a proximal end, and a distal end for insertion into a body cavity including anatomical structures, and a blade mounted at the distal end. The apparatus also includes a handle at the proximal end and including a device which generates sensible outputs upon receiving activation signals, and a position sensor fixed in a predefined disposition relative to the tube. The apparatus additionally includes a processor configured to acquire an image of the cavity, to determine, in the image, locations for each of the structures, to receive, from the sensor, a position signal indicative of a blade location of the blade within the cavity, to determine, based on the blade location and the respective structure locations, a proximity of the blade to a given structure, and to convey, to the warning device, a given activation signal in response to the proximity to the given structure.

摘要: The uncinectomy knife is a surgical knife for performing uncinectomies and other sinus or endoscopic procedures. The uncinectomy knife has a central elongated handle having opposing first and second ends. The knife has a horizontally oriented cutting blade extending orthogonally from the first end of the handle and a vertically oriented cutting blade extending orthogonally from the second end of the handle. Both of the blades may be double-edged so that they can cut when the handle is moved in opposite directions. Both ends of each blade may terminate in a bulbous tip having a smooth, blunted surface, such as a sphere or rounded ball to prevent tissue trauma when the blade ends contact tissue. Accordingly, the uncinectomy knife may be inserted into tight cavities for tissue augmentation or removal without damaging the surrounding tissue.
