摘要: In one embodiment, a system includes a catheter including an insertion tube and a first position sensor, a pusher including a second position sensor, and an expandable assembly including flexible strips disposed circumferentially around a distal portion of the pusher, with first ends of the strips connected to the distal end of the insertion tube and second ends of the strips connected to the distal portion of the pusher, the flexible strips bowing radially outward when the pusher is retracted, processing circuitry to receive a respective position signal from the first and second position sensors, compute location and orientation coordinates for the position sensors subject to a constraint that the position sensors are coaxial and have a same orientation, compute a distance between the computed location coordinates of the position sensors, and find position coordinates of the flexible strips responsively to at least the computed distance.

摘要: A medical procedure navigation system includes processing circuitry configured to obtain, from an electronic storage device, data associated with a medical procedure instrument, the electronic storage device being housed within the medical procedure instrument; obtain at least one preoperative patient image; track, using one or more tracking devices, a real-time location of the medical procedure instrument and an imaging instrument; obtain, from the imaging instrument, at least one patient image; determine, based on the data associated with the medical procedure instrument, at least one feature of the medical procedure instrument; identify, based on the real-time location of the medical procedure instrument and the imaging instrument and the at least one feature, a localized view of the at least one preoperative patient image; and superimpose and display, on a display device, a localized view of the at least one preoperative patient image over the at least one patient image.

摘要: An apparatus includes a shaft and an end effector at a distal end of the shaft. The end effector is sized to fit in an anatomical passageway within a subject's cardiovascular system. The end effector includes at least one electrode pair that is configured to contact cardiovascular tissue and thereby pick up electrocardiogram signals. Each electrode pair includes first and second electrodes spaced apart along a longitudinal axis from each other by a gap area located between the electrodes, the gap area having a gap length with respect to the longitudinal axis such that a length of one of the electrodes along the longitudinal axis is equal to or greater than the gap length; and a ratio of an area defined by the gap area to one electrode area is equal to or less than one.

摘要: A method for annotating ECG signals with a time of activation of a myocardium is provided which comprises receiving a bipolar signal and one unipolar signal of the bipolar signal from a pair of electrodes, computing a local unipolar minimum derivative of the unipolar signal at a plurality of times of occurrences of the local unipolar minimum derivative, computing a bipolar derivative of the bipolar signal, evaluating a ratio of the bipolar derivative to the local unipolar minimum derivative, annotating each time of occurrence as a time of activation of the myocardium at a location in a heart when the ratio is greater than a threshold value, extracting features of the annotations and assigning a confidence level to each feature, eliminating annotations based on a subset of the extracted features and a pair reduction analysis, and generating a local activation time map using the remaining candidate annotations.

摘要: A guidewire, consisting of a flexible biocompatible tube, having a tube distal end, the tube containing an internal lumen and being configured to be inserted into an orifice of a body of a living subject. A planar resilient strip is inserted into the internal lumen, the strip having a strip proximal end and a strip distal end fixed to the tube distal end. A coil spring is fixed to the strip proximal end so that an axis of symmetry of the coil is coplanar with the strip, the coil spring containing a coil lumen. A wire is threaded through the coil lumen and has a termination fixed to the strip distal end, so that pulling on the wire causes the strip and the tube to bend.

摘要: Apparatus, including an enclosure having a base and a cover with respective conductive layers. The conductive layers connect to form a shield attenuating electromagnetic radiation originating outside the enclosure in a range of 10 kHz-100 kHz by at least 20 dB within the enclosure. An adapter circuit within the enclosure processes electrophysiological signals to generate an output signal. A first connector passing through the enclosure connects to a probe to receive the electrophysiological signals and convey them to the adapter circuit. A second connector passing through the enclosure receives the output signal from the adapter circuit and conveys it to a console. A control input receives a control signal indicative of a frequency within the range, and a sensing circuit senses a magnetic field within the enclosure and outputs a warning signal when the magnetic field at the frequency indicated by the control signal exceeds a preset threshold.
