    Abstract: Fall protection systems and methods for a load in an elevated position include at least two self-retracting lanyards configured to be removably coupled to the load. The at least two self-retracting lanyards are associated with a single braking system that arrests movement of the at least two self-retracting lanyards when the single braking system mechanically senses that a speed of any one of the at least two self-retracting lanyards has increased to a threshold brake speed that indicates the load is falling from the elevated position.

    Abstract: A safety line traveller (1) for a fall protection system has a first component (2) in sliding engagement with a safety line (40), and a second component (3) which hinders sliding contact of the traveller with the safety line (40). The first and second components (2,3) are normally held in a sliding configuration in which the second component (3) is spaced from the safety line (40) and the first component (2) provides sliding contact with the safety line. The first and second components (2,3) are reconfigurable to an alternative configuration in which the second component (3) engages with the safety line (40) in order to hinder sliding of the traveller (1) on the safety line (40).

    Abstract: An expansion bolt and pivot and swivel mechanism therefor. The expansion bolt may have a base and a plurality of radially spreadable elongate elastic members cantileveredly projecting from the base at respective points of joinder to the base and terminating in respective spoons at respective points of joinder of the spoons, wherein the elongate elastic members have respective radially defined thicknesses at the points of joinder to the base that are substantially less than the corresponding thicknesses of the base, and respective radially defined thicknesses at the points of joinder of the spoons that are substantially less than the corresponding thicknesses of the spoons. The pivot and swivel mechanism may have a ring element that includes two spaced apart leg members having foot portions that turn to extend toward each other, the foot portions having respective, spaced-apart relatively enlarged ends; a swivel housing element having an open end for receiving and at least partially containing the ends of the foot portions so that the ring element can be substantially freely rotated about a pivot axis; and a capping element adapted for interlocking with the open end of the swivel housing element, the capping element having a bottom surface portion of radial symmetry about a swivel axis that is distinct from the pivot axis.

    Abstract: The roofing safety system is a safety device. The roofing safety system is configured for use with a pitched roof. The roofing safety system forms an anchor point to which individuals and materials are attached during the installation of the pitched roof. The roofing safety system comprises a plurality of anchor plates, a master spar, and a shingle shelf. The plurality of anchor plates secure the roofing safety system to the pitched roof. The plurality of anchor plates attach to the master spar. The shingle shelf attaches to the plurality of anchor plates. The plurality of anchor plates removably attach to the pitched roof. Any individuals on the pitched roof are anchored to the master spar using a cord and a carabiner. Any roofing materials, such as a plurality of shingles, located on the pitched roof are secured using the shingle shelf.

    Abstract: A roof attachment system and methods of using same during the installation, maintenance, or repair of a roof on a commercial or residential building structure. The roof attachment system and the related methods of using and implementing the system include, among other things, an anchor or internal support assembly, and a hook or securement assembly. The roof attachment system enables the installer to utilize at least one internal support assembly, or at least one internal support assembly and the securement assembly to install the roof, depending upon the installation stage of the roof. Upon completion of the installation process, the roof includes multiple concealed internal support assemblies that provide multiple anchor points that are spaced an appreciable distance apart along the ridgeline of the roof. When the roof requires maintenance or repair, the securement assembly can be removably coupled to a specific internal support assembly to facilitate the maintenance or repair by a technician while also reducing the chances that the technician experiences a fall from the roof.

    Abstract: A human motion assistance device has an upper torso harness for attaching to a user. The upper torso harness has a backpack assembly and shoulder strap, which buckles in front of the user. The upper torso harness can be IOTV. Leg straps are affixed to the upper torso harness proximate to a gluteal area of the user and configured to extend down a hamstring area to a knee pad and further extend down a tibia area. The knee pad opens along a vertical or angled segment and the calf portion opens over the calf. Seat webbing is connected to leg straps for additional support. Upper torso harness and leg straps are made with a combination of durable materials such as textured nylon, polyurethane coated polyester, as well as elastic material and webbing material. The upper torso harness and leg straps are passive without active members.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for ensuring safety of a worker are disclosed. The system includes a first fastener configured to secure two or more ends of a harness around the user, a first sensor unit attached to the first fastener, the first sensor unit configured to generate a first signal when the first fastener is in a locked position, a tether attached to a portion of the harness, the tether configured to tether the user to a stationary or movable object, and a second fastener attached to one end of the tether, the second fastener configured to secure the one end of the tether to the stationary or movable object, a second sensor unit attached to the second fastener, the second sensor unit configured to generate a second signal when the second fastener is in a locked position, and a controller unit wirelessly connected to the first sensor unit and the second sensor unit, the controller unit configured to generate a third signal when the first or the second signal is not received by the controller unit within a predetermined period of time.
