Abstract: A technique of reducing the radiation sensitive nature of both P-channel and N-channel components of a CMOS structure. The channel oxide in both components is grown as pure as possible during the manufacture with a special attempt to keep the alkali content low. After the manufacturing process is complete, the Pchannel component is masked while the entire N-channel component is subjected to an ion implantation which radiation hardens the entire CMOS device or circuit. This process provides a CMOS device which maintains a useable threshold level in the presence of and after it has been exposed to 106 rad of radiation.

Abstract: A thickness-mode electroacoustic transducer wherein an active body of non-uniform thickness is employed to provide uniform wide-band frequency response. The body may be wedge-shaped, having non-parallel planar major surfaces. Abstract: A control system utilizing a magnetic reed switch responsive to the output of a battery regulated power supply for controlling an impedance means to maintain the voltage output of the supply within a predetermined range. In the preferred embodiment, the power supply transformer has a separate secondary winding for controlling the energization of a relay coil to initially activate the reed switch. When the a.c. power is removed, particularly under adverse conditions, the battery maintains the output supply voltage within a predetermined voltage range until the relay coil senses a predetermined minimum voltage and in response thereto opens the reed switch effectively changing the impedance value of the impedance means from a finite value to an infinite value.
