摘要： An evacuation or rescue device for a bed-ridden or non-ambulatory person adapted to quickly secure the person to a movable underlying mattress or the like comprises two sheets deployable one from the head-end and one from the foot-end. When deployed the head-end sheet meets the foot-end sheet over the persons chest or abdomen; the head-end sheet having an opening for the head. The two sheets, which are interconnected underneath the mattress, are then tightened downwardly over the long sides of the mattress by means of looped ropes pulled one from the head-end side and the other from the foot-end side. The ropes are self cleating when tightened and quickly secure the person in readiness for rescue and evacuation by a single individual if necessary.

The spinal restraint device consists of a spine board, having a plurality of strap mounting openings. A plurality of straps are mounted to the openings in the spineboard. At least one yoke is provided. The yoke has a first strap which extends through the yoke from a mounting opening on the spineboard above the yoke and a second strap which extends through the yoke from a mounting opening on the spineboard below the yoke. The first strap and second strap describe the shape of an hourglass.

摘要： A vacuum immobilizer support is disclosed which includes an elongated, flexible casing having neck, thoracic and pelvic regions. An evacuation valve is provided to allow the casing to be converted from a flexible state to an evacuated state. Stiffener sections are provided in the casing to prevent transverse bending of the casing in the neck, thoracic and pelvic regions. The stiffener sections allow transverse bending along an axis between the thoracic and pelvic regions. An intermediate stiffener section is provided to prevent longitudinal shortening of the casing between upper and lower stiffener sections. Discrete elements are disposed within the casing and allow the casing to conform to a patient when in its flexible state and to be rigidly fixed when in its evacuated state.

摘要： An evacuation sheet as provided in the form of a longitudinally elongated web as can be folded along a fold line that extends transversely of the width thereof to form an envelope. Binding straps are provided which serve to secure the two lengths of the web in the face to face relationship and handles are provided which facilitate the lifting of the envelope. A first portion of the web is inserted lengthwise under a bedridden patient and then the second length is folded over the first length and secured in the face to face relationship by means of the binding straps. The patients can then be lifted from the bed using the lifting handles. Handles are also provided at the end remote from the closed end of the envelope which can be used for the purposes of lowering the patient down an incline.

摘要： A device for transporting disabled or sick persons comprises a stretcher mattress attachable to a stretcher frame or a transport vehicle by means of a belt band emerging from the underside of the foot end of said mattress. Belt bands which issue at the head end of the upper side of said mattress in the vicinity of its central longitudinal axis and interact with additional belt bands projecting laterally in the middle area from the edge of said mattress result in secure support of the disabled or sick person during transport on his back or side and allow the attending physician unimpeded access to the subject's thorax. Bracings located beneath said mattress and connected to one another by means of hinges allow the subject to be transported in close quarters. There are furthermore provided wedge-shaped cushions forming a bolstered edge portion, under which cushions a sheet to be placed on said mattress can be inserted without removing the belts.
