摘要: A method and RFID system for providing a service is provided. A plurality of RFID tokens are prepared. Each tag is associated with one or more services. The RFID token is a RFID tag-based token. A user selects the RFID tag to an item. The RFID token is inserted into a package with the item to request the service to the item. A recipient scans the package to obtain the service information from the RFID tag, and handles the item based on the information.

摘要: An enterprise business intelligence system includes a data access service that provides consistent availability of functionality for querying multidimensional data sources regardless of the capabilities of the underlying data sources. The data access service disassembles a multidimensional query into execution units, and may optimize the multidimensional query such that individual execution units may be executed locally or remotely to achieve increase computational efficiently.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a business intelligence monitor method and system. Business intelligence indicators are monitored by generating a monitoring repository through selecting functions from a collection of functions, for receiving the business intelligence indicators as inputs. The thresholds for the business intelligence indicators are then established to define the states for the business intelligence indicators. Each state of the business intelligence indicators is assigned an associated priority. The monitoring repository is updated by retrieving a current value for each of the business intelligence indicators from a data source, thereby determining the state for each of the business intelligence indicators based on the current value. A report based on the updated monitoring repository is then created.

摘要: A member unique name (MUN) structure and MUN translation system and method are provided. The MUN structure comprises a canonical business key for uniquely identifying a member across different dimensional data sources within a business enterprise and at least one of a dimension reference for defining the context in which the remaining portions of the MUN exist or a data source identifier (DSI) for uniquely identifying a member within a dimensional data source that implements its own unique member identifiers. The MUN translation system comprises a translation selection module for selecting a MUN transformation and a collection of MUN transformations for transforming a MUN structure of a first data source into a MUN structure of the second data source. The collection of MUN transformations comprises at least one of a different source technology OLAP to OLAP transformation for transforming a third OLAP MUN to a fourth OLAP MUN or a Dimensionally Modelled Relational (DMR) to OLAP transformation for transforming a DMR MUN to an OLAP MUN. The third OLAP MUN and fourth OLAP MUN are of different source technologies. The method comprises the steps of selecting a MUN transformation and transforming a MUN of a first data source into a MUN of the second data source. The step of transforming comprises at least one of the steps of transforming a first OLAP MUN to a second OLAP MUN, the first OLAP MUN and second OLAP MUN are of different source technologies or transforming a DMR MUN to an OLAP MUN.

摘要: The invention provides for a method for producing reports for business intelligence that adapt automatically to a context, defined by a locale variable. A parameter map is defined, based on locale key and field names, and a report layout is produced that contains one or more macrotized database language expressions that include partial expressions built using the parameter map. Later, once a user selects a locale, the partial expression resulting from a lookup in the parameter map using the locale is used to modify one or more macrotized database language expressions. Finally, the resulting valid database language expressions are applied to the database to produce a report.

摘要: A new method of customized retrieval and presentation of information from a relational database is disclosed. The customization is achieved by modifying a first application for retrieval and presentation of information from a database in accordance with input provided by the user, at the time when the execution of the first application is requested by the user. The user input is solicited and gathered by a second application associated with the first application. After the user input is completed, the second application generates a script which modifies the first application. The modified first application is then executed and the requested information is retrieved and presented to the user in the form customized by the user input.

摘要: This invention addresses the need for dealing with complex planning calculations based on data warehouse or Planning Data Repository (PDR) data where some aggregated data or forecast data might be changed without directly manipulating the underlying data, and where there may be several relationships linking the data. The system is able to deal with complex relationships along more than one axis or dimension. A number of iterations are typically used involving both back-solving and ‘forward-solving’. The subset of cells that needs to be recalculated is identified before steps of back-solving and/or forward-solving using parent/child tables. The scanning of these tables looking for potential dependencies is much simpler and faster than to looking at the actual formulae or functions relating the cells. The step of creating the parent/child tables is carried out in advance of the actual calculation by parsing all the relationships (formulae and functions) and summarising the dependencies between cells in the parent/child tables.

摘要: An interactive system for visualizing business data organized according to the dimensional model allows to combine data from more than one data source and present the data in the form of a graphical, multi-metric data visualization. The visualizations are hierarchically structured and built from visualization elements including, in ascending order of hierarchy, charts, panels, scenes and sheets. The system provides a large variety of two- and three-dimensional visualization elements, mostly predefined charts, which can be combined in any number into fully customized visualizations. In a preferred embodiment, a visualization is built by the system, which prompts the user to select data sources, data items to be visualized, and certain features of the presentation layout. In response to the user input, the system generates a number of candidate visualizations and presents them to the user for selection in descending order of preference, based on numerical scores assigned to the candidate visualizations by a scoring algorithm. The data to be visualized can be filtered, drilled down for details, or presented in a series of consecutive visualizations, to create an animation effect.

摘要: A method of rendering screen of a computer display device under conditions requiring frequent repainting of the screen is disclosed. The display is a part of a computer system running an application under control of an operating system. The application detects the onset of conditions requiring frequent repainting of the screen by checking messages sent by the operating system to the application's message queue. The application then starts the repainting of the screen based on the information retrieved from the queue while checking periodically the message queue to see if the originally detected conditions still apply. If this is the case, the application terminates the original repainting operation and starts a new repainting operation based on the updated information retrieved from the message queue. This cycle is repeated until it is determined that the originally detected conditions no longer apply, in which case a final complete repaint of the screen takes place. The method is particularly useful for the display of a graphically complex scene during a navigation operation, such as panning or zooming, when complete repainting of the scene as the navigation progresses fails to provide to the user an acceptable visual feedback of the navigation progress.
