摘要: A secure element of a mobile device receives a first authentication token, which may have an encrypted portion and a non-encrypted portion, from a network gateway device to which the mobile device is connected. The secure element determines whether the first authentication token is valid based on a sequence number included in the first authentication token. If the secure element determines that the first authentication token is valid, the secure element generates a second authentication token that indicates a result of an authentication operation performed by the secure element. The second authentication token is sent to the network gateway device. The secure element derives a pre-shared key using a key derivation function, where the pre-shared key is usable to establish a secure communication channel with the network gateway device.

摘要: A system for self-activation of a portable device on a wireless network includes a first server that receives a first message from a particular portable device with a unique identifier that indicates the device type of the device that is at least one of a first type or a second type of portable device. A second message comprising data including the device type corresponding to the portable device is sent to a second server. The second server sends an activation message in response to receiving the second message when the device type determined is the first type; and the second server sends the activation message after a delay interval that is longer than a boot-up sequence time when the device type determined is the second type. The activation message prompts the user to activate the device for use on the wireless network.

摘要: Techniques are disclosed which can allow a mobile device, which is no longer being updated by the device manufacturer, to receive updates from the manufacturer. In an implementation, an international mobile equipment identity (IMEI) is received from the mobile device that identifies a model of the mobile device. The mobile device can have at least one application that is unable to communicate with a server of the mobile device's manufacturer. A provisioning server may determine that the mobile device is depreciated based upon the IMEI, and obtain a key unique to the mobile device. The key and at least one Access Point Name may be transmitted to the mobile device, which can allow the mobile device to direct its data traffic to the server of the manufacturer.

摘要: Exemplary embodiments of the present invention include receiving subscriber identity information for a cellular network at a mobile communication device via a short-range wireless communication network. The subscriber identity information is received from a device issued by a provider of the cellular network. Exemplary embodiments further include storing the subscriber identity information at a subscriber identity module embedded in the mobile communication device. Exemplary embodiments additionally include transmitting the subscriber identity information from the subscriber identity module to a server of the provider for authenticating a subscriber of the cellular network. Exemplary embodiments still further include receiving, from the server of the provider, authorization for the subscriber to access the cellular network, and accessing the cellular network via the mobile communication device.

摘要: A data carrier is convertible into a cradle for a mobile communications device. The data carrier includes a first manipulation line downstream of a cutout in which the SIM is disposed. The first manipulation line and vertical manipulation lines define a stand that is less than a width of the card body. A support portion on each side of the stand includes a rear support surface that is fixed relative to manipulation of the stand. Each support portion also includes second manipulation and third manipulation lines configured such that upon manipulation, a vertical support surface extends between the second and third manipulation lines and a lip portion extends between the third manipulation line and a first end of the card body. The mobile communications device may be secured in a portrait orientation within the cradle formed by the rear support surfaces, the vertical support surfaces, and the lip portions.

摘要: A data carrier including a SIM card may be converted into a cradle to support a mobile communications device after the SIM card is removed and inserted into the device. The card body includes first, second, and third manipulation lines extending across the card body. The card body may be manipulated about these manipulation lines to form a stand and cradle comprising a first support portion to support a rear surface of the mobile communications device, a second support portion mobile to support a side surface of the mobile communications device, and a lip portion that secures the mobile communications device within the cradle. The lip portion is shorter in length than either the first or second support portions to limit obstruction of a display for the mobile communications device when disposed within the cradle to facilitate viewing of the display.
