    摘要: A surgical device for cutting or shaving bone or tissue includes a housing having an elongated tube extending therefrom, the elongated tube configured to support a surgical tool at a distal end thereof. A gear assembly is disposed within the housing and is configured to control oscillation of the surgical tool. A motor is operably coupled to the housing and is configured to drive the gear assembly upon activation thereof. The motor is moveable relative to the housing to adjust one or more gears of the gear assembly which, in turn, adjusts an oscillation angle of the surgical tool to control the aggressiveness of the surgical tool when cutting tissue or bone.

    摘要: A surgical cutting tool adapted to be rotatably driven by a motor. The surgical cutting tool includes an elongated shaft defining intermediate and coupling portions. A shape of the intermediate portion defines a primary central axis of the shaft. The coupling portion includes a tang having a tapered cylindrical shape that defines a drive axis. The drive axis is slanted with respect to the primary central axis. When coupled to the motor of a powered handpiece, the tang transmits an input or drive force from the motor to the intermediate portion as a torque about the primary central axis. In some embodiments, the drive axis extends through a centroid of first and second spaced apart cross-sectional planes of the tang, the first and second planes each being perpendicular to the primary central axis.

    摘要: A surgical system for cutting tissue of a patient includes an outer housing and a reciprocating assembly structurally configured to carry a cutting tool in a reciprocating motion. An actuator knob is manually accessible to the user and may be fixed axially to the outer housing. The reciprocating assembly may reciprocate relative to the actuator knob. The actuator knob may be configured for rotational movement between a lock position and an unlock position. The system may also include a locking mechanism configured to retain a cutting tool within the reciprocating assembly. The locking mechanism may be responsive to movement of the actuator knob to maintain the tool within the output shaft when the actuator knob is in the lock position and permit removal of the tool when the actuator knob is in the unlock position. Surgical cutting tools, such as blades include thickness enhancing features.
